I have a quick question about my Labor Day plans. My dad was supposed to go on our trip and Monday (Labor Day) was going to be our Animal Kingdom day. My mom recently had back surgery so most of the rides at AK were out for her, so just dad and I were going to spend the day in AK with all of us then walking from the BC to Epcot to eat dinner at Rose and Crown. I was planning to request a patio seat with hopes of an Illuminations view. We did this in April and greatly enjoyed it. Standing in one place for a long time is kind of hard on my mom, so a seat for the show was great. Well fast forward to today and my dad tells me that he is no longer going to be able to leave work to go on the trip. This wasn't a huge surprise as we knew this might end up happening. So I went to change our FP+ for mom and I from AK to the MK on Labor Day since mom can't ride EE and thinks the safari is too jarring on her back this close after surgery. She said if she couldn't ride what she wanted that AK was just too hot and we would catch it our next trip. When I changed to MK I was able to get a FP+ for Wishes only a little over a week out. I was shocked. We have never done the FP+ section for wishes. Mom and I both enjoy Wishes over Illuminations, but I was most worried about a seat for mom. Is there sitting in the FP+ area? I'm trying to decide which show to see that night. I hadn't planned to catch wishes this trip because I didn't know if mom would be able to stand there but now with getting a FP I'm thinking of skipping Illuminations this trip instead. I was just wanting some thoughts. Thanks so much in advance! The DIS has been such a life savor for me planning trips!
