We are going next week April 19-27 and I would like to do this with my 4 & 6 YO but cant predict which nights they will be night owls and whcih they will carsh early.. can this be done as a walk up?

I love the Dis Boards but I use Allears.net to plan my trips also and they have a Dessert Party Section on there. They say that Walk ups are allowed as long as there is room. Visit the allears site and the link to the Dessert Party is right on the home page and it will give you all the information. They also have reviews of it and if you look around they have pictures posted as well! We are going in May/June and have decided to add this to our list of things to do. The only draw back is if you make a ADR you have to pay for the Dessert Party up front which makes it a little harder if the kids are tired the night you decide to go. Maybe a trip back to the hotel mid-afternoon for a little r & r might make the night go a little smoother. HAVE FUN!!!

It has been increasingly popular so walk up may not be a good idea. I suggest you book it and give ur kiddos an afternoon nap that day.

From what I have heard, walk ups are allowed, BUT I highly advise against it. This has become very popular and I highly recommend making advance reservations. I know its hard with the kids. (I have a DD7 and a 11month old DS), but I have already heard that 1 or 2 nights in April are already completely booked.

It's always booked when we call but if you slide a c note to the host or hostess you will get in every time!

Ok, so if your serious, what's a C note :confused3

I know it's money, but what denomination...:lmao: r we talking a $5 or a $50???

I just called and it doesn't start until 9 the night I want to go April 20, 2020 UGH and it's more expensive than I thought. Adult $27.68 and child $14.90 :scared1:
so that is two strikes against booking in advance
1- later than kids may make 2- more $$ than I'm comfortable with taking a "chance" on with two little ones....

:goodvibes

C is the roman numeral for 100. The poster means $100, which I'm guessing you're not comfortable with. I wouldn't be either!

Its a new Disney gold mine with the prices dramatically increasing over a short period of time. One might speculate 2011 will see another increase if not prior to the Christmas season in 2010.

Honestly, I've thought about booking when we go next year (if they're still doing it at that time), but the prices are getting a bit "out there." Are your 4 and 6 year olds really going to eat $30 worth of desserts? Are you and hubby going to eat $55 in dessert?

OK, I called again, there is NO WAY we will eat that much dessert, here's the dea for any of you that are also interested

Hoiday pricing that week
the next week prices go down to 23.42 and 12.77, but we leave (tue) before WED which is the next 9:00 show time ugh! guess we're gunna wing it and see if they are up for it or not.

Yup - we went in July, and it was $17.00/adult, with no mention of tip. Now, in a few short weeks, it's gone from $23.00 to like $28.00/adult, plus tip (due to holiday season pricing).

I suspect if it gets extended into the summer, Thanksgiving or Christmas (the next holiday surcharge time periods), it will increase to $30.00/adult. Disney's making a mint off of this event, that's for sure!

Yikes! Tiger

ok, they said tip, but I figured it was just what she was used to saying, I thought this was a dessert buffet - where you get your own drinks and desserts.... Am I wrong?

I read that too about reservations not being necessary, so I was really surprised when I called yesterday for 1 person on May 3, and found there's no availability. But I'm still hoping-I'm going to call while we're there (starting April 24) and hope for a cancellation.

We were there last Friday and it was sold out. There was so much food I couldn't believe it! I tried most everything there, but was way too full. :goodvibes The desserts were wonderful!! The fireworks were beautiful and we had a perfect table to watch from. But, there were lots of people who were very angry that they couldn't get in. My dh left for a short while and said he thought there was an angry mob that would storm the place when he came back. It's nice that Disney has special events, but many people feel angry when they are left out. If you do get a reservation, leave plenty of room for dessert ;)

Good to know. My DH booked us for April 27, but didn't ask the cost so I wasn't sure if we were paying the higher rate or not.;)
