I was just wondering if anyone felt like they got their value out of the Wishes Dessert Party. I recently did it with a group and felt like we got completely ripped off.

I found it wasn't a very good set up for single parent with a child.

I took my niece to it and we had a great view from our table. I had to get a special non-dairy plate of food for my niece and also get myself food-no problems there. Then before Wishes started, I took my niece to the washroom. When we arrived back at our seats, our entire table was cleared. I then had to find the manager and tell her what happened as my niece hardly ate any of her food. I then gathered up more drinks and some food for myself. By that time all the railing area was taken and we didn't have such a great view anymore.

The view a few nights before was much better. I didn't bother videoing Wishes like I had planed. I also felt we wasted a lot of time in line trying to get into the party. We didn't get to our table until well after 8pm.

We did it with a party of 11.
Honestly we felt like we missed WAY too much of the Christmas party.

With the price of the Party tickets and the wishes party, we were really just disappointed~

Glad we tried it, but wont recommend it~

we just felt that the quality and variety of desserts wasn't really worth the money. It was a lot of things in tiny sizes but not much in the way of cakes or pastries. There were some brownies and hard chocolate chip cookies.

We also had gone with 2 people who can't have gluten and we called ahead of time and were assured that there would be plenty for them to eat on the buffet. When we arrived we were informed that they had to prepare a plate for them and bring it out. While we are used to needing this kind of special treatment it was a little annoying because it took away the excitement and fun of actually checking out the buffet. It also took about a half hour for them to bring it out and once you turn your back on your table to watch the fireworks your table is cleared so all of the leftovers were gone.

We also still had to stand behind people at the railing because there were so many people at the party so our view was still somewhat obstructed.

All in all we just felt like it was a sort of thrown together way of trying to get more money.

We did this last month for our MVMCP and it was awesome...but I wish I went hungrier because I dont think I ate enough to justify the price.

maybe we just caught it on an off night. When they ran out of creme brulee almost immediately and we asked why we were told that the chef had called in sick that day. Maybe that had something to do with it. I was a bit curious as to why no one else could make it since it's sold in basically every restaurant.

If that one guy is the only one that knows how to make it then he has some sweet job security.

We did it in October, and I was glad we did for the non crowded view of wishes, but in no way was it worth the money. Our seating was 8:15 and place was a mob scene. The treats were completely picked over, some were totally gone. They led us to the area our table was in, and said find your name on a tag on a table in here somewhere. Well there were no tags on the empty tables. We finally just sat at one. We got questioned a few minutes later and told him what happened. He found our table, no where near the section the hostess left us in. I LOVE desserts, but found most of them not that great, and we won't be doing it again.

Here's what you get at the Fantasmic Dessert Party in Disneyland. Oh yeah, and out there you pay $59 and your box of desserts is waiting for you on a wooden folding chair.

Can you remember what the gluten-free members of your party were given?

It consisted of three different kinds of gluten free cakes, 2 different flavors of sorbet, gluten free chocolate chip cookies, and berries. Most people were actually a little jealous because they had cake but ultimately you could collect most of this stuff from around the park at a fraction of the cost. And you don't actually get to partake in the buffet as they have to bring it to you.

Thank you for the info and the picture. Do you recall if they cake & cookies were any good? Sorry for so many questions.

The cookies were a little hard and not much to write home about. Personally I think the brownies that you can get at most restaurants are way better. The cakes were pretty good. I only tried the spiced cake, which had a bit of a gingerbread taste. My mother in law was also devouring the frosting so I would say that they went over well. Considering that they didn't have dairy or gluten it was quite successful.

If you are going to do the party though just be warned if you turn your back on your table to watch the fireworks expect the food to be cleared by the time you come back. This is unfortunate if you had to have this allergy food specially delivered to you because it's not so easy to get more or if you intend to take it home with you.

I also did not have the best time at the dessert party, I was very unimpressed. I was talking to another guest and we both agreed that this was definitely not a magical moment. And for some reason un-known to me all of the other table were getting there dirty plates and mugs cleared from there tables and on our table I was making my own little castle. I dont know maybe we just caught it on a really off night but i cant see us ever do that again.
