Wishes Dessert Party Reservations

I have been trying to make reservations for the Wishes dessert party for months. We are trying to go at the end of August and every time I check online, nothing shows up for August. I have called multiple times and been told there is no availability in August and I have to call back. Yet, I see people on here posting that they have August reservations. I am beyond annoyed and would love to know what is going on. Does anyone know? My Father-in-Law is dying to do this and if I can't get reservations I am going to hear about it the whole time we are there (and months after as well). It will also reinforce his assumption that I know nothing about Disney and his friend's kid is right (and then he'll try to use the dining plan at T-Rex and use the pool at the Polynesian, where we aren't staying . Thanks in advance for any info!

August was open for a week or so and then the system seems to have had a huge malfunction. While they are having the Dessert party at this time no one has been able to get through for a while. I was able to get through August 16th. last night online. I just checked and the system is down but when it does come up, I recommend the following:

go to www.waltdisneyworld.com, click on where to eat, click on make dining reservations, click on dining event, drop down to Wishes dessert party, MANUALLY CHANGE YOUR DATE IN THE FOLLOWING FORMAT 08/14/2011 (use your actual date), check the time which is equal to 1 hour before Wishes (either 8 or 9pm), put in the number of people and enter.

I would do this a few times per day and check here often. You will see the threads are active when the booking is open.

Good luck. We are going August 5th. Hope you get your date!!!

Manually entering the date has worked well for Fantasmic DP also.

Just double check the date before giving your CC information. There are a few ways to reset the date, and I would hate for you to get charged a cancelation fee or the whole amount if it resets the date to tomorrow's date.

Thanks everyone! I just got it this morning ... and then called to attempt to move my son's Pirate League. Apparently the dessert party showed up on my reservation list because the CM congratulated me on getting it and said it is the holy grail reservation right now.

I see where you got your online direction, but when in doubt I always call the dining line. the CMs are so very helpful and they will email any questions you have real-time and get answers while you wait. I'm shooting for December dessert dates and the CM today gave me a time frame to begin calling. I love on-line, but for the important stuff, I call

I put the dates in manually and got the reservation too!!! So excited... Really looking forward to this!

I also used this technique and got August 23rd.

I send thanks from myself, my wife and especially my daughter... not that they know they are going yet... but I'm sure they will be thankful when they find out.

I am trying to book for Sept 17 and this is what I get when I try online.

"This dining event is not currently scheduled to take place on the date selected. However, it may be scheduled to take place on this date in the coming months. Please check back later or select another date."

Maybe it is 60 days out. I called a while back and she told me to try in June, well June is over. Guess I'll have to maybe call again.
