My niece and I attended the Wishes Dessert Party on Oct. 14. I had contacted Brenda with Special Diets and inquired what would be available for my niece. I was informed that they would have a selection of things she could eat including the regular pre-packaged chocolate chip cookies and brownies and Tofutti ice cream.
When we arrived and checked in I reminded them that I had a child that was lactose intollerant and was told that a plate was already made for her and would be brought to the table. After being shown our table the manager arrived and told us what was on the plate. There was 3 slices of cake- chocolate, vanilla and spice, chocolate chip cookies -not pre-packaged, strawberries and 2 kinds of sorbet- raspberry and apple.
My niece ate the chocolate cake and said that the other ones were hard. I didn't get a chance to find out if they were dry or if they were frozen as I took her to the bathroom before Wishes started and the table was cleared completely-including the Mickey confetti. My niece wasn't happy-neither was I. I found the manager and told her that while I took my niece to the bathroom the table was cleared. She asked my niece what she liked off the plate and told us she would bring out another plate. She returned with more chocolate cake and raspberry sorbet.
We had a great table to view Wishes, unfortunately everyone decided to move to the railing 15 or 20 minutes before it started and blocked our view. With only one adult and a child it was impossible for me to save a spot and take her to the washroom. Also we did not get seated until after 8 pm as they only start letting people in at 8pm. There was quite a long line when we arrived before 8pm.
