Wishes Dessert Party - Cancelled April 18?

Just received a call from a Disney rep letting me know that I had booked a Wishes Dessert Party that shouldn't have been booked (for April 18). He said they would refund me and offered to give us access to an Illuminations Dessert Party or reserved seating for Wishes in the Rose Garden with a dessert box.

We decided to go with the RG & dessert box. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes! This just happened to us for our April 16 Dessert Party reservation. The Disney rep called my friend (she was the one who had made the reservation for us) and said they had overbooked. They offered us the same thing - full refund, VIP seating in the Rose Garden for Wishes, and a dessert box so we can still enjoy the treats. I don't know what's going on or why they suddenly realized they took more reservations than they should have, but there you go.

Yepp. Mine got cancelled for the 14th as well as another member of the FB April group for the 17th. We both took Illuminations since the dessert box sounded less than appealing. A rice Krispy treat, key lime pie and strawberry shortcake and banana pudding, brownie and apple slices for kids versus a dessert buffet at Illuminations? Buffet with champagne please!!! I don't care how crappy the champagne is! Lol I'm kind of bummed about not being able to do the wishes dessert party but it is what it is.

Overbooked? They told us it was a scheduling conflict with what time wishes starts conflicting with what time the party is? Hmmmm....get your story straight WDW!

Me too (for the 16th). But, I will gladly take a refund, with a spot in the rose garden and dessert box!

Unless you have a taste for Dom or Krystal you should be ok I like Persecco. The only beef people have been having is that there is no seating like there is for the Wishes dessert party.

I am still shocked they do the illuminations party without chairs. Unbelievable. But that's beside the point.

I'm starting to worry about my reservation on the 25th. I guess we will know more in the coming days if these keep getting canceled or not. :-/

Yeah, I kinda wanted to book this but by Illuminations, my feet would need a rest.

I booked it and plan on my feet not being dog tired. Hopefully that plan will come together. I figured I will give it a try and hope for the best.

Hahahaha nope I'm totally good with cheap! As my momma said "alcohol is alcohol to me I don't care if it's cheap or $100 a bottle!" Lol as for no seats, I'm good with this too. The day we picked to go is arrival day and we had no plans to go to the parks this day so we aren't going to be tired from walking around all day. We will welcome the standing after being in the car for 8 hours. Plus, we are from the south and won't be too shy to plop our butts on a spot on the ground if need be! Lol

Hahahaha nope I'm totally good with cheap! As my momma said "alcohol is alcohol to me I don't care if it's cheap or $100 a bottle!" Lol as for no seats, I'm good with this too. The day we picked to go is arrival day and we had no plans to go to the parks this day so we aren't going to be tired from walking around all day. We will welcome the standing after being in the car for 8 hours. Plus, we are from the south and won't be too shy to plop our butts on a spot on the ground if need be! Lol

Mine was cancelled for 4/29- I was told the Epcot party WILL NOT HAVE ALCOHOL. It is completely separate from the other Epcot dessert party in another area. Given the guy on the phone could be wrong but he sounded like he knew what he was talking about.

I wasn't sure if this would be a big deal but I thought some would want to know in case the alcohol was the deciding factor- I was told I had until Monday to decide which one I wanted.

Are you serious? The 29th? This is frustrating. I haven't seen anyone being cancelled on the 25th yet. But it would be my luck to be cancelled. I wonder what is going on!

I know the beginning of May is still okay so it just may be my day. They we very secretive on the reasoning.

So I just spoke to another CM leader- she said the issue was overbooking for April 13-19 and April 29th only. Those parties are still going on just those of us that missed the real cut off are SOL.

Again- I like to think this info is correct but you never know with CMs.

Just wanted to let everyone know bc I know a few people were worried about their reservation.

Don't forget to kick off those shoes before you plop your butt down! That the first thing for me and I am from VA.

I was told the same thing, regarding the EPCOT substitute...NO ALCOHOL. I was told, the alternate "parties" will be held in the FP+ areas. Although, no FP+ will be distributed for those nights.
