I think a lot of you are putting way too much pressure on yourself. I missed the opening dates of August by 4 days. I was still able to book but I used my second date instead of my first choice. We are there for 6 nights and yes my first choice was not available but every single other night was open.

I have been in September and in October and booked one or two days after the first date and still made it work.

I even booked one month prior for a table of 10 and still got it. I totally understand the excitement but for those reading this thread and are new to the party, try not to get too upset for not being able to be at the computer 24/7. Have a 2nd. and or possibly 3rd. date to go and even if you are in towards the back you will still be able to get up and see everything.

To everyone going, have a great trip!

That's my concern..... I don't have a 2nd option! We have one day only that we can go!

i'm just hoping to get an early adr so I can get a table close to the railing. I only have one date also

Just wondering if by "early" you mean the time that your reservation is for. Or if you mean getting booked before other people. Only because the time of your reservation won't affect where you sit. They assign tables by the order in which the reservations are made. Just wanted to be sure you knew. Happy hunting! :)

I have a few dates I could choose from.. but I'd really like my first choice so I don't have to change around our schedule. And I'd really like a front row seat! Not really worried about not getting the reservation.. just want it booked and over with! :rolleyes1

I mean I want to make the reservation as soon as possible, not early as in the time we're supposed to be there :-)

You may not get front row. It depends on the number in your party. Plus you can have front row seats and 3 - 6ft gentleman stand in front of you.

There is not really a bad seat in the house. People are up and moving through the whole party. Many times we would have someone in our view for the whole evening. You can not ask them to move.

I realize that you all have just one night you can go. You could call at open and still not get your reservation.

I posted more for first time party goers who see people looking every 15 minutes. As long as you are a bit flexible you shouldn't have to sit at the computer the whole week.

The last party we went to we were a party of 4. It was a school trip and we had a young lady who was not in a group so I asked if she could join us. I paid the night of. Our original table was about 2 rows in. When they switched us to 5 they removed a front row table and put us in there with the new configuration. I didn't ask nor expect it but it happens.

I still go with there are no seats that are better. The person who is sitting in the back row may be closer to the desserts, finish eating is a few minutes and be up at the wall 30 minutes prior to the fireworks. Plus they could be a table of 10 with children. Front row has that family in front of them the whole time.

I have sat in many different area's during the party and must say that being in the few rows back was our favorite. We did not have to go up to the wall because we had enough distance to look up and get a great view but in the first row we always had to stand.

Just another perspective for those who are booking the party.

There's only 2 of us. We're going for our Honeymoon so that's why I thought it'd be cool to be front row :cutie: I've been to Disney many times but my Husband has never gone. I only found out about the dessert party this year.. So no matter where we sit its going to be cool because it will be the only thing we've both never done. I've done quite a bit at Disney so finding something new was very exciting to me!:wizard:

I disagree. We have done the party 4 times and were in the back for one. We didn't like it. The tables were super crowded and we felt claustrophobic because of the roof. Being in the first row the tables were crowded too, but there was no one in front of us so it felt more open. We were also able to see the castle, the tops of the MSEP floats, and it was such a nicer ambiance while we were eating. Not trying to stress anyone out to book early, just sharing our experience and explain why I stress when we're waiting to book ;)

Also, even though we're not going in September, I was on WDW.com today so I was checking for everyone. Did anyone else see that the September calendar has blocked out all Tuesdays and Fridays? Are these MNSSHP dates?

Who knows if this means anything but under the 'know before you go' on the reservations page it says that you can make res 'up to 60 days prior to your visit' I think at some point it use to say the 180 days.....maybe there will some consistency with the 60 day window....we actually check in on sept 1 so 60 days will be tomorrow (that is the official word on my countdown on the my disney experience page).....we r also hoping to do the party on a tues....the only one not blocked out 9/3....it's all just guess work but come on who doesn't love the thrill of the chase and ohhhhh the glory of the capture when u snag your perfect date at a perfect table on a perfect night....ohhh the stuff dreams are made of...we put in all the ingredients and wait for our perfect little plan to rise...it is the fun of it I think...the planning.....thinking and dreaming and hey we r a team...when u r working, in surgery at the grocery....we r checking for each other....we know that we will be the first to know because we united in one goal...come on guys this is the home stretch I know it

Called at 1:10 (CST), still not showing open.

Told me to call back end of July, 1st of August because it doesn't open until 30 days before. :thumbsup2

Guess I will keep trying :)

Anyone else nervous they wont open all of September? I am looking for the 23 or the 26th. I hope its all of september.

So happy we got our reservation! We are going 8/7 anyone else? I will be in one of the four people groups taking the whole plate of mango shooters back to my table.

This bugs me. They should just be trained to say "I don't know. No set time. Has ranged from X to Y days out since inception."

This just makes me feel like these CMs (those who give this type of answer) are trying to reduce their call volume. Don't like it.
