We did this on our first night and it was wonderful, magical, and relaxing.

I booked this for 7 of us Me, DH, DD7, DD3, DS, DMIL and DFIL. Everyone loved this boat ride. I suggest anyone who is thinking about this go for it because it is great!! If you have any questions let me know.

I've got one booked for our family too! Where did you embark? Did you get to see the Electrical Water Pageant? What other sites did your driver take you by before the fireworks? How much did you tip?

I think that's all I have to ask!

Thanks,
Kerri

Wow...I have the exact same questions as you Kerri0616...I'm really trying to decide between an Illuminations cruise and a Wishes cruise so I'll be eager to hear the answers! Thanks! :teeth:

Our captin took us all around the lake and we asked for her to tell us any facts/myths... each resort she had so much information.. contemporary, WL,etc... then she showed us the "water bridge" that goes over the road, the shoe tree... facts about the parks... her experience as a college intern, at night she showed us discovery islands bird habitants w/the beam light... etc, she was great.. our favorite is the bear that makes up Wilderness lodge.. for the best view/effect you must be out on the lake!!! We did a birthday cruise, and watched the fireworks while eating great cake w/our captin. (she was absolutley great) :goodvibes We are trying to convince our friends to join us on our trip this fall so i can book another cruise! so worth the money if you have it.

If you don't mind answering, how much did this cost? Was it just your family on there? We are only a family of 4 so I was just wondering how it worked and how much sense it would make financially. I condiered doing it for either Illuminations because my DH just LOVED that (of course, the rest of us did too).
Thanks for your input!

For a birthday cruise it was more expensive (included decorations, cake, soda/water)..I payed $220 for that and we left a hefty tip. There was 4 of us adults, my significant other, his mother and sister. I did it as a suprise for him, perhaps you should with your family also? Hope that helped.

familyfirsttimer- The cruise cost us 145.00 and you can fit, I think, up to 10 or 12 people on the boat. What some families do is share the boat with another dis family. We did this with the illuminations cruise. I love this curise so much I will do it everytime we go back to WDW :cloud9: . For our family we enjoyed this so much. They have different areas that you can be picked up at, ours was WL. Our captain picked us up at 8:15pm and took us all around the lagoon outside of the WL and told us lots of facts and figures. After we finished in the WL lagoon area we went over the water bridge and did a cruise around the 7 seas lagoon and looked at the three major hotels over there, once it was about time for wishes our captian placed us right in front of the castle and we were ready for the fireworks. The only thing is that our boat did not have the music piped in. The boat that was next to us did though and we could hear it from them and from the park. It still was magical for all us and we will always do this. MY husband enjoys this 100x more than illuminations. When we did illuminations the smoke came right to our faces and it was not any fun. But we love    this cruise.

We have a birthday cruise planned for the 25th. We are so looking forward to it. We are meeting some friends of ours there and it is their daughters birthday. The kids don't know nothing about this so it will be even more special.

I loved reading the reviews and cannot wait for our trip!

We have a fireworks cruise booked for July 10th. Did yours have the Wishes music piped in and were you able to see the EWP? THanks.

Disneymomx7- No ours did not have the music piped into our boat, but you could still hear it from the park and the boat that was next to ours had the music so we could hear it from there. The boats move around alot so there were times we could not hear it that well but it was still worth every penny spent. Like I said above, we will go on this cruise each and everytime we are at WDW. :goodvibes
Oh I forgot, make sure to bring the bug spray. When you are sitting there waiting for the fireworks to begin the bugs begin to come around.

Thank you so much for the info :grouphug: , it really sounds great and I will have to keep it in mind when planning my next trip. Thanks for the tip about sharing the boat also. Take care!

We have a Wishes cruise scheduled for July 1 departing out of the Grand Floridian. We are a party of 7...3 adults, 3 kids 9, 8, and 4, and an infant. I am wondering if anything about this cruise made it prohibitive for an infant. Our daughter will be 6 months and she is a very easy going baby. I figured she will be on and off boats/ ferries throughout the week, but just thought I would ask someone who had gone recently. Thanks for any input you can offer :-) I will remember the bug issue.

Queenbee- The kids have to wear a lifevest on the boat. When we went on illuminations our youngest was 8mths at the time and she had to wear a vest. She was not very happy with it at first but she did settle down after a bit.

Thanks for the report. We have a Wishes Cruise booked for June 28 out of the WL.

Thanks for the info, Piglethappy! I had read previously that lifevests were not worn for the cruise, so this is good info for the whole family! I wonder how the baby will react to the vest? I imagine she will be sleeping and it is cushy so she will probably be okay. It must make it awkward to hold the baby if you and baby are wearing lifevests!

Thanks for the info! We have a Wishes Cruies booked for Aug 28th. Not sure my 3 year old will be too happy wearing a vest, but I know I will feel more comfortable. Still not sure if we will be keeping our reservation, but if we do we will be looking for others to join us as it is just the 3 of us!

We have a Wishes Cruise booked for Sunday August 21st. It sounds like alot of fun. Their will be 11 of us. :flower:
