I have just experianced the most breath taking memory! I'm not bragging, I'm just overwhelmed with emotion from this experiance!!
Our Systems of Care site sent staff to the Georgetown Institutes for training. The conference was jam packed busy and not much time on your own. I knew that my fellow employees would not be taking extra time to go over to Disney, but they wanted to. We work so hard to help others (we provide wraparound process for families of children with complex mental health needs) and often put our own comfort and relaxation last.
I was given a bonus for a presentation that I helped with so I took the $$ and reserved a 10 person Wishes cruise. I made out invitations for the cruise and delivered them to the nine staff who would be going. Of the group, only two of us had ever even been to Disney.
Last night we took the shuttle bus from our offsite resort to the TTC. Took the monorail to MK, and the boat launch to the Wilderness Lodge. We caught a bite to eat before going down to the docks for the cruise. We met Cara who was our CM Guide. She was fabulous!! After about an hour on the lake hearing all about Disney World and such, we seen the electric water parade. Our group was so excited and impressed with that.
We pulled into place for the Wishes show and by the time it was over, several of us were crying!!I was so moved with emotion. I knew that the gift that I had given to all my friends would last them a lifetime, and for several of them, it would be an experiance that they will never have the oppurtunity to experiance again. The gift I gave to them in feeling the magic of Disney can not be more than the feeling that I have in giving this memory. I was moved by the show, but I was so overwhelmed with emotion when the others started coming over to me and started to hug me, thanking me. Many of them were crying.
Wow, I think now I must know what it's like to be able to be a CM who just gives a special magical moment to an excited guest.
Thank you for letting me share. I feel so blessed.
