I've got a Wishes cruise reserved for Nov 30 and we did an Illuminations cruise last year, which was AMAZING!

How does the Wishes cruise compare? Do you just see the fireworks over the castle and CAN you actually see the castle?

Also, can you see Tink fly?

Well I've never done the Wishes cruise, so I'm not an expert, but I'll try and give you some advice. You are out in Seven Seas Lagoon, so you can imagine how much of the castle you can see. You'll be able to see it, but not all of the projections on to it. I do not believe you'll be able to see Tink at all. It's just too far away.

Also, it is my understanding that unless you're doing the Magical Gatherings Wishes Pirate Cruise, you will not hear the music.

If you have a group of 8 or more you qualify as a Magical Gathering group. There are a bunch of activities that are made available to just those groups of people. I don't know all the details of the cruise, but it is my understanding that there is a Pirate who is your guide and entertains you, and the boat is different (it's not a pontoon boat...I think it holds more people) and they can play the music on these boats. I just booked a wishes cruise for sept 29th about 2 days ago (someone canceled) and the women I spoke with said the music was now piped in to th epontoon boat. I will try and post back here after my vaca. in 21 days and let you know if that is true or not. I personally am looking forward to it as it will be a new experience and a new viewpoint. Last time I saw wishes I was pretty close to the castle ( right to the side of mainstreet by Crystal Palace) and I could barely hear the music let alone what Jiminy was actually saying so if I can't hear I wont be disapointed. You've already done Illuminations so I think you should try it. Don't let people discourage you. It just might be the highlight of your trip. Everybody takes things differently. I still think it will be beautiful and fun.

I'm going the 18th. I have read that you also get to see the Electric Light Boat parade as well. I also heard about the wireless speaker for the music.

We did the Wishes cruise in May and thought that it was absolutely wonderful. They were testing the wireless sound system that night, so we heard everything.

Thanks for the responses.

I like the idea of the wireless sound system...Disney takes care of everything! We loved the Illuminations cruise and I'm sure this will be great too.

We're actually going to MVMCP too so we'll see Tink then.

Personally, my dh and myself thought the Wishes fireworks were much better than Illuminations.

Though we did see Wishes upfront (to the right of the partners hub on main street) and saw pretty much everything (music included). It was absolutely awesome!

Now we saw Illuminations 2 years ago (standing) and this past August saw it via the cruise. My dh, though not disappointment commented that the Wishes fireworks were much better. I kind of agreed (they did seem longer and seemed to do many different things).

Go with the Wishes, especially if they are now piping the music in!!!!

Just returned and did both cruises. While each was wonderful, Wishes did not have any sound. I enjoyed the boat ride, and meeting some Diser's who split the cruise, but the actual show was better in the park. We loved both cruises, but thought the Illuminations one was much more enjoyable.
