Wishes (at TTC) after illuminations? is it possible????????????

Can you lovely people (experts) tell me if its possible to view illuminations at 9pm, then hop on the epcot monorail and watch wishes from the TTC (which starts at 10pm?). I should have plenty of time to pull this off. Correct?

The monorails are running at that time I assume?

If you can get there, it will work.

(The phrase "plenty of time" is seldom wise to use in these kind of ventures.)

IllumiNations ends at about 9:15.

You, and 25,001 of your closest friends, will start to walk to the front of Epcot to exit.
You and a goodly number of those same friends will get in line to board the monorail to TTC,
There you have it.

I would think you would need to be strategically located near the entrance to WS so you could be one of the first ones to the monorail platform after it ends.

It's worth a try, but I'm going to say you'll probably miss at least some of the show. Illuminations will be over around 9:15. Even if you watch from the FW side, it will still take you 5-10 min to walk to the monorail station, and there will be a lot of people joining you on that walk. So, let's say you happen to get on a monorail right away. You'll then be pulling into the TTC before the show starts and be good. But if you don't get that first train, you'll miss some of the show.

If you intend on watching it at the TTC you should be able to watch it easy but as PP wrote be on the Monorail side of WS.

I think it's completely doable- although rushed. My daughter and her husband not only watched Illuminations, they made it back to the MK, entering the MK just moments before the fireworks started. This was in late November, several years ago, so depending on when you go, crowds will have some effect. Although if you place yourself in the right spot, crowd levels are not that big of a deal.

It's a rush, location in Epcot counts and if you have little ones- I wouldn't try it. This was a 1 night stay at WDW before leaving on their honeymoon cruise so she was intent on getting her big 3 in. She did much more than you're looking at, so while I wouldn't call it easy (and of course, it could not work at all) it is doable. Here's what and how they did it. :

They started at the MK. They watched Spectro Magic from the the train station, quickly headed to the monorail to Epcot and watched Illuminations from the International Gateway (where you are in Epcot for Illuminations is KEY). The waste time was that when exiting Epcot, she stopped to watched the fountains for about 10 minutes (although I suspect it was less than that) then back by monorail to the MK- the lights were off and Wishes started just as they got to the Roy statue. I would definitely not stop to watch the fountains!

So if you're just wanting to watch from the TTC, I wouldn't call it easy, but it's certainly possible.

We almost always try to use late night hours at MK, so we often hop from Epcot. We don't usually make it in time.

We often lave Epcot DURING Illuminations to get ahead of the throng, but still don't usually make it. The monorail stops during Wishes. It actually stops midway between platforms, with no good view of Wishes.

CR, GF, or Poly guests in Epcot for the day use the monorail to return to their resort.

Still worse, the monorail is not always running. If that happens, then WDW uses buses. Via bus, it took my family over 90 minutes to get from Epcot back to CR.

Try taking take a taxi! Find out in advance where to get one at Epcot.

Even if you miss the first post-IllumiNation Monorail and have to wait for the second one,you will still make it-it only takes 7 minutes from the Epcot Monorail platform to the TTC(9 minutes from TTC to Epcot).

Enjoy- it's really fun to see both shows so close together(It is possible to make it to Main Street USA in time for WISHES,but it is "challenging".)

You won't have to miss any of IllumiNations.

Watch the LAST fireworks explode and THEN,quickly turn and begin speed-walking-that will put you ahead of other Guests who will be "lingering" for a few moments.

I have seen wishes, but never from TTC. And I heard its a lovely view from there. Great photo op. As for illuminations, i've seen it before, but not the full show. I think i only saw a few minutes in the beginning.

Definitely stay to see all of Illuminations if you haven't seen it all before. It's so wonderful! Makes me cry almost every time. Set up a spot early near where Future World and World Showcase come together. Once it's over, get away as quickly as possible to the Monorail station. They should be letting people out of the park right in front of it at that point. Hopefully you make it to the TTC in time to see the whole of Wishes, but if you don't, you have seen it before.

Adding my voice to the "been there, done that" crowd.

I've made it to Main Street in time for the 10:00 Wishes after watching Illuminations.

I do agree about watching Illuminations from the area near the walkway into Future World and failing any mechanical issues on the monorail, you'll be able to get to the TTC before 10:00.

I've done it the other way too.

Watched the 8:00 Wishes (from behind the castle) and still got to World Showcase before 9:00.

Like I said, we've tried it and not made it plenty of times. You might make it, and one would think you should be able to make it, but almost anything involving WDW transportation is a toss up. I don't know that is it 'mechanical issues', but the monorail is often held up around then.

If you've never seen either show in their entirely, then both are well worth seeing. The finale of Illuminations is the best part.

By all means, try to see both, just don't expect to see both and maybe leave an opening to see Wishes another night.

I also fully endorse the idea of using late night (EMH?) hours to full advantage.
