Hi everyone. I am new!!! I am planning a trip to Disney for 7 - 4 adults, 3 kids. We are from Prince Edward Island.

We are leaving November 30th and returning December 11th. We choose that time as it is supposed to be a time with less people and Disney will be decorated for Christmas. I can't wait.

I have 2 questions - We are planning to attend Mickey's Christmas Party - can you tell whether they will have the Wishes fireworks during the party?

And do we need a park pass as well as the ticket for the party? What I had hoped was that we would make this a day to rest and then attend the party that evening - I was hoping we wouldn't have to use a park pass for that evening since we are buying a ticket.

For MVMCP you only need your party ticket. Resting before the party is a great idea because it lasts until midnight. I am not sure if they show wishes during the party, but if they don't you can catch it another night.

Welcome to DIS :p

Last year they showed Wishes during MVMCP. You won't need an extra park ticket if you're only going to the party. If you want to go to MK earlier in the day as well as the party, then you'll need the party ticket and a park ticket. Check out this thread, it has a lot of info on MVMCP

Are you driving or Flying???

We are going from the 28th till the 17th. We are driving from Shediac and can't wait. The wishes they show during the party are even better than regular wishes...It's a blast.:wave2:

When we went last year we were able to get into MK with our party ticket at 4:00. Be sure to book your dinner at Liberty Tavern for 5:00 so that you don't miss any of the party.

The fireworks at both MVMCP and MNSSHP are amazing. They definetely were different than Fantasy in the Sky, but I haven't seen wishes so I can't compare them. Make sure though that you aren't on a ride or at a show when the fireworks are due to come on because you don't want to miss it.

The snow on Main Street is fabulous. Enjoy your trip!!!

thanks so much...

we are flying from Halifax on November 30th, returning on the December 11th. We are getting so excited. I had to work really hard to get a ps for Cinderalla's breakfast and I got it for our last day there. My heavens can you imagine, going to Disney with 3 girls age 5, 8 and 11 and not get a ps for the Castle - yikes. I tried for 6 days and I finally got through.

I got so excited the CM congratulated me...

PhotoBearSam, we will be there at the same time - wow! If you see a group of 7 (two mothers under 5 feet tall, two handsome husbands (over 5 feet tall LOL) and 3 beautiful tiny girls (small for their ages - one in a wheelchair - that's us!!!)

I have one more question - I can't seem to find a cancellation policy for MVMCP - not that I think I would cancel since it sounds like so much fun, but one never knows.

Thanks

jxgallan - another suggestion - you might want to consider doing the Family Magic Tour at the MK. It's really fun for all and really worth the cost.
We had newbies with us for last years MNSSHP which we did first. Then the 3rd day of the trip I told them we had to be at MK for something special at 9:45am. I didn't tell anyone what we were doing. It was a great tour, as they had seen a bit of MK during the party. We then lunched at the park, and rode rides we wanted to re-visit, plus ones we didn't get to.

If you need further info, let me know.
You'll love it at the parks at that time. After US Thxgiving the crowds really thin out.
Just be prepared for the weather. One day it was 75F and we had shorts and T's on. The next night at the Xmas party, we had coats and vests, with Xmas hats - and the hats were handy as they kept our ears warm. Check out the dollar store before you leave for the santa hats. Everyone wears them! We even had to buy a blanket at the park as the kids got cold! Be sure to bring both extremes of clothes, just in case!

Have a great time!

Cool, thanks I will consider that. Do you know if they have a cancellation policy for MVMCP?

No, I pretty sure they do not. I remember reading before we went that if you purchase tickets and cannot go, there is no refund. I also remember some people posting to get rid of tickets they couldn't use.
I hope this helps.

Be sure to stake out a spot on Main Street for the parade. With the 'snow' it's just beautiful! Really puts you in the holiday spirit.

They do show Wishes during the Christmas Party...with a bonus! Near the end, they send fireworks up around the perimeter of the whole park as well. It's a 'can't be missed' item.

We did what one poster was questioning about. We slept in and took it easy then attended the party later that day. The only ticket needed was the party one.

I'm sure you'll enjoy the Christmas party. It's worth the extra money.

You can't get a refund on the tickets but you can change nights. We did that in Dec. 2002. It was due to pour rain on the night we were supposed to go. We asked at guest services about exchanging them for a different night and they said no problem as long as there is availability on the night you want to switch to. It worked out great for us as the night we went was chilly but clear and the night we had originally planned for....well I felt bad for anyone who had to be out that night.

Have a great trip!
