Wedding Day, Continued
Downstairs, we had three rooms being used for all of us ladies to get dressed. My mom and godmoms rooms connected, and our hairdressers room (my moms friend from home) was directly across the hall. We had all three doors propped open so everyone could walk in and out. Its funny, the next time youre in WDW, look for a little notch on the outside of the hotel door. They all have a tiny hole so that a nearby cabinet handle can latch into it and keep it open.
The mood was nice and low-key. Some of the women in my family had stopped by to visit and help with any little tasks.
One of my bridesmaids already had her hair finished, and two more were getting theirs done. It was still wet and dreary outside.
Everyone was worried that I would be upset about the weather. The truth was, I had been fretting over the brightness inside the Wedding Pavilion for months. I always wanted a romantic, candlelit ceremony, but my family was totally against the 7:30 time slot. I gave in and agreed to the 5:00 ceremony, but I didnt want it to be sunny inside the pavilion. The rain, even if it was inconvenient, was going to give me exactly the lighting I wanted!
It wasnt long before Laine and Ana (from Beaute Speciale) arrived and got set up in my godmoms room. I sent two of my bridesmaids to start their makeup. I wanted my makeup to be done at the last moment so it would be at its freshest.
Soon my hairstylist was ready for me, so I headed into the hair room.
And she got to work
I was still very relaxed at this point. I had a special wedding day playlist playing in the background. When Chapel of Love came on, the entire room sang it together. It felt really neatlike some sort of womens bonding ritual.
While I was getting my hair done, some visitors waddled up!
I freaked out, I absolutely love animals. Brandon and I are both animal people. My mom kept joking that it was my wedding day, and there I was taking pictures of ducks.
Back in the makeup room, some of the girls were finishing up
And others were painting their nails
I didnt find out until later that my youngest bridesmaid, my cousin, was having a meltdown over her hair and makeup. Shes a beautiful girl, but she is *that* friend that always hates however they look. My family sweetly shielded me from it. One of my other bridesmaids made her stop trying to change her makeup and hair.
My hair was finished, and it was perfect! I went through many trial runs at home, and wasnt always completely happy with it. But today, it was exactly what I wanted. Simple and romantic and Snow White-esque.
I had a quick sandwich, then Laine got started on my makeup
When my older flower girl saw me getting my makeup done, she wanted some too! Ana very sweetly put a tiny bit of blush and gloss on her
Laine and Ana were just wonderful. They made us all feel so at ease. Each girls makeup really brought out her unique beauty. We were each a little different, but we looked great all together.
All done!
