Fellow WISH athletes. We just recently had a major shoe company talk about "Real" runners, like anyone else is a lesser athlete.
There is more to being an athlete than that, way more. A "Real" athlete is one that gives it the best they have all the time. Sometimes that 'best' is a wonderful effort, resulting in a PR. Other times that 'best' is just making it through the day.
All year long we live, we love, we work, we train and we raise our families. But when the call to challange the distance comes we answer. We come to those starting lines and we take care of business. We run we walk and we walk/run but we get it done. We each give all that we have to give. We don't judge each other because someone else is faster or slower, we encourage each other and we lean on each other.
We have a power that can't be measured. Our power comes from within each of us. As long as we believe in ourselves we can accomplish things that others can't even imagine. Somethimes we forget that. That's when we need each other to remind us that we do have what it takes to make it.
The power and energy of this group is amazing, I'm very proud to be part of it.
