Okay everyone...so sorry for all the delays! Here is some info for everyone about hotels. Right now WDW has not released FIRM rates for 2005 so these are estimates! Also, Pop Century WILL NOT accept group ressies, so if you DO want to stay there, you can, but we cannot BLOCK rooms...hope that makes sense. Also, Swan and Dolphin are not offering any discounts for groups because Jan and Feb are HUGE convention months.
So here is some info! I will post it on the website soon. ALSO, VERY IMPORTANT::yes::
YOU MUST EMAIL ME AT kamgen@yahoo.com TO CONFIRM WHERE YOU WANT ME TO BLOCK A ROOM FOR YOU. DEADLINE IS MARCH 11. SO PLEASE LET ME KNOW!

INFO:
All-Star Movies standard room would run $76.00 per night including tax. (Pop Century is not taking groups).
The rate being quoted right now for the Pop Century for next January is $110.38 per night including tax.
Caribbean Beach standard room would run $103.00 per night including tax.
Animal Kingdom Lodge standard room would run $161.00 per night including tax.

Again, the Disney properties are priced at our best "guess" for
2005. It should be very close to those rates.

Thanks everyone!!!! :grouphug:

Hi Kamy,

Thanks for doing all the work on this!

I have a few questions. If you block a room for us and then suddenly we would need to cancel, what type of cancellation policy is there? Is it the usual CRO cancellation of 5 days before check in? Also for what dates are you able to get these rates? We are now thinking of staying for almost a week!

Cheryl:bounce:

Right now we are just getting a count for blocks...once I do that, I will have more details.....
In terms of cancelling, from what I understand it is standard policy.

Thanks Kamy!!!

Just sent you my email!!

I'm getting SO excited!!

what are the POP WISHers going to do? I was totally set on POP, but now i'm not sure. I love the themeing; but it's really a place to lay my head. OK, this may make or break it -- who has to leave earlier for the marathon?? POP or All-stars??

Since this is going to be a "solo" trip for me, alreadyexcitedgrammy, and evansmom (well we are bunking together but no families) I'd like to stay where there may be some WISHers hanging by the pool -- but I don't get to Disney often either! decisions decisions!!!

Since EVERYONE has to leave in the middle of the night, it really doesn't make that much difference!!:p

WDW had SOOOOO many buses running to pick up the marathon participants this past year - we were staying at the Dolphin, and we got a bus right around 4am.....there were plenty before us, and many after as well....just plan on catching your bus, no matter WHERE you are staying, by 4am and you'll arrive with tons of time to spare!

I was originally planning on PC. We really enjoyed it when we were there in Dec. I haven't been able to get ahold of the friend who is going with me to check with her (hopefully we'll connect today) but I am now leaning towards Caribbean Beach. That is a great rate for a moderate and it less than Pop plus there will be 3 of on the room so I think the extra space of a room at CBR will be nice.

Kamy I'll email you as soon as we make up our minds!

What is this about getting a bus at 4am?

I am a first timer for the marathon and I need info before I make definite plans.

I can say that we will stay at Animal Kingdom from Sat to Mon. What is expected of us in between?

Yes, you need to get the bus by around 4am....They begin running buses at 3am, with the "last bus to the start departing at 4am" (as advertised...I think they ran a BIT longer - no too much though).....it takes you to the Wonder parking lot at Epcot, where you need to walk 5-10 minutes (depending on how AWAKE you are) to the pre-race staging area. There you check your bags, use one of the thousands of port-a-potties, and then walk a good 15-20 minutes to the race starting area....race starts at 6am!

I told Kamy to put our party of two rooms down for All Stars Movies [cheapest rate right now]. We are planning on a 10 day stay so I'd like to keep it as affordable as possible. HOWEVER, I'd really like Pop Century and if I can get a good deal [possibly AP rate?] later then we will switch to Pop Century.

At this point, we'll be staying at Caribbean Beach - an awesome rate! Kamy, I'll send you an email when we know for certain in a day or two.

Thanks for all your work on this, Kamy!

Just loking at where everyone will be looking to stay. We will be making our own ressies and I am looking forward to meeting everyone!

Kamy, you are so wonderful to be taking care of this! I sent you an email about our room at the Caribbean Beach.

Thanks,
Erin

YIKES...I just saw this thread at 10:46PM on the 10TH.!!!
I'll contact my travel companion first this in the AM on the 11th and post/email our decision***. Rate at CB is great, but I sooo want AKL....want that deluxe pampered feeling after THIS accomplishment!

**realize this is for 'counting' purposes only

ok -- we are following the crowd to CBR -- that's myself, AlreadyexcitedGrammy and Evansmom :)
