Wish from the Children's Wish Foundation

Hi there! I am new to the board and recently received a call that my daughter is having a wish granted!! I was told it could happen pretty quick but I was just wondering if anyone knew approximately how fast a Disney trip could happen?

My daughter has an MRI booked at the end of the month and we recently found out my Mom has breast cancer and will be going for surgery in September but they are trying to move it up!

On the trip it would just be my Mom, my Daughter and I and we were hoping to maybe try and go sometime in August so my Mom can come. After the surgery she will be having radiation for a while and won't be up for a trip!

hello welcome to the forum. My daughters wish grantors from make a wish called me yesterday and they told me august was wide open , so best of luck.

I think it depends on the organization for how quick they make the trips happen. We have been working with the Dream Factory for my son and his trip is in September. We started working with them in April. We are in no rush for the trip as he is undergoing alot of tests, and appointments. We got to give them a time frame and they work around it from there. I do know some people gets trips within a couple of weeks but that also depends on the health the child.

I hope you have a great trip and all enjoy themselves. My son is beyond excited for our trip so the next 2 months can't go by fast enough.

Oh wow that would be great if we can do it soon! I just honestly don't have anyone other than my Mom to help me and I don't think I could do a trip alone with my daughter.

My daughter's health is good at the moment they are watching her every 3-4 months with MRI's because she has Neurofibromatosis and has 5 tumors in her brain. The largest being on her brain stem. She also has Sensory Integration Dysfunction (Sensory Processing Disorder) I honestly don't know a lot about it yet we were just told recently. I was told its an Autism Spectrum Disorder. She can be pretty difficult and being a single mom with no one around other than my Mom I am a bit nervous and just hope she will be able to come!

We have never been and I was wondering if anyone has tips on where to steer clear if things are extremely loud?? My daughter has had to where head phones recently to block out some extra noise at school and if we go to a movie!

to the dis! We just got back from GKTW. I believe we received our dates 6 weeks before we left for Disney. Take a look at the wishtrippers thread. There is lots of valuable info there. Good luck planning your trip and hope you get the dates you desire!
