Hey everyone,

I got a message from CrzyforPiglet that she would like to have a commitment thread, so I am officially opening it up for business again.

This thread is what got me on the road to exercise back on 1/27/04. Without it, I really think I would still be not exericising. Instead, I am feeling so much better about myself and have never felt better!

Tonight is WISH chat as well. Join us for some healthy chatting!

Whatever you want to commit to will never be too little or big to post. It can be as simple as drinking water, eating more veggies, etc to being as big as committing to exercise every day and add water.

My commitments for this week
Continue to do my FIRM workouts 6 days a week
TM 3 days this week (trying to up my running on one of the days to 2 miles again, the other 2 days 1 mile plus walking)
Keep trying to get the 8 cups of water in per day.
Keep trying to get 3 a day calcium in.

Who's next..............

I'm going to try Pilates tomorrow. I'm also gonna try not to cheat. Being a gourmet chef it is hard not to pick/browes, especially when I currently have private clients.

Yippee!!! I am really feeling motivated - thanks Melanie! I already made some goals last night but I think it'll really help to post them here so here we go . . .

1. Aerobic exercise - 5 times
2. Pilates - 3 times
3. No more than 6 sodas per day
4. At least 7 low-carb meals this week

Believe it or not the soda thing may kill me quicker than the other stuff. We have free soda at work in my office so it's waaaayyyy too easy to grab a diet coke. I think I had 3 this morning before lunch but nothing since so I'm doing good. Motivates me to drink more water!

I've got two-

1)To eat within my WW points, but only those foods from SBD

(I gotta get rid of the sugars)

2)To workout for an hour each day for the rest of the week (Tuesday thru Saturday)

ALRIGHT EVERYONE!!!!

Here's my commitment for the week....

Walk atleast 30 minutes for 5 days this week
Do Curves 2/3 x this week
Eat healthier

Mel-Thanks for starting the commitment thread up again. I am in and my goal for the week is to go to my Curves training on the machine Wed. morning at 6:15am and go back again on Friday morning to do the routine. I am also journaling everything (like it or not) for the rest of the week. I have got to get back to that and I'm sure I'll see why I'm gaining and not losing.

Sending everyone PD for a great week and I'm going to try to make it to chat for a little while tonight.

here's my commitment-

1. on the days I am not training for the marathon , which would be Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, I will do my WATP tape.

2. drink my water

3. Read at least 1 article a day from Running Times and Running World magazines.

thanks for the challenge!

I'm going to:
1- Do crunches everyday.
2- Go to my yoga class (90 minutes, tuesday and thursday). :)
3- Walk at least 30 minutes on the days I don't do yoga. :o
4- Eat healthy. ;)
5- No cheating.

Alright, how does this work? Do we report daily? Weekly? How many weeks do we go for? Forever?! I like to know things in advance...I'm kind of anal retentive that way. (That is me panicking)

Anyway, here's what I would like to work on:
Sticking with the marathon plan that I'm on,
Run Mon, Thurs, Sat (long workout)
X-Train Tues, Fri
Stretching exercises Wed, Sun

I also hope to drink 2.5 Nalgenes per day, which comes out to 80 oz. of water per day. I think this will help curb my appetite, which has become quite ravenous since starting this training, and cut down my snacking. It will also help clear toxins quicker, so let's hope!!

I am going to be better to my journal, too...Really take time to put down my meals and exercise details...

This sounds like a good deal, and I need a great deal of support, so I think I came to the right place!!

Thanks!
Ashley

Boy do I need some motivation!!

Today is Tuesday - my goals for the rest of the week:
1) Drink my eight glasses of water each day.
2) Exercise - WATP - EVERY day.
3) Make sure I have no more than 20 carbs each day.

Mel - thanks for starting this thread again - it really helps me, too!

I am at the computer this morning because I failed to set my alarm !!! But it will be okay - off to Curves tonight and then rest of week is TM each morning and Curves after work.

Trying to curtail "sugars" just like AnnieT and ohMom is working on that this week, too - so no tootsie roll pops in my grocery cart for awhile!

Couldn't get the site to "open" last nite - did others have trouble or did you get to chat?

Here we go committer's - onward and downward to those goals we set!!

i'm in too:

this week has some challenges for me, including a dinner out tonight and a possible lunch friday.

so -- I commit to making wise choices and not picking after I'm full just b/c it's there. Also to my regular exercise for the week (3 days walk/jog, 3 days other stuff) and to LIMIT my sugar. Yesterday I did good and will continue the trend and get back to the point where I don't think about it alot.

I have been "lurking" for a while again. I started so strong last year near the end of summer with the support of everyone here but somewhere along the line I got WAY off track. Here is what I am working on:

1. Committed to checking in at WISH to use the support of others and to give support.

2. I will start to work out again. I will start with at least 30 minutes of exercise 4 days a week.

3. I will follow my weight watchers plan and that includes journaling.

4. I will drink more water and cut back on the coffee.

It feels good to make a commitment to this all again. I had slowly started working my way back to this but I realize that I need to be committed if I am ever to reach my goals.

Thanks!
Jen

Happy Tuesday everyone,

Well today I did Super Cardio Sculpt and plan on doing the treadmill some tonight and some kind of ab work.

I am on my 4th cup of water, so I still have a ways to go. I should be ok if I do the TM tonight.

Jen- Glad to see you again! Glad you are joining the committment thread!!

Molli- Good luck on your challenges this week. You can do it!!

Bev- Getting off the "sugar" really makes sticking to a healthier WOL easier. I know when I eat the sugar all I want to do is eat MORE sugar. Good luck on cutting back, you can do it!! There was no chat again this week due to server problems!!

Claire- Glad your joining us- Good luck with your commitments.

Ashley- You can report daily or weekly. I find it helpful to try to report every day so I make sure I stay committed. We will keep this thread going as long as there is interest!! It REALLY helps keep you motivated! Good luck!

Bubie2.5 - Glad your joining us- Good luck!

Karebear- Glad your joining us- Good luck!

Tammy- Glad to see your post. I missed our commitment thread from before. I just found out today that we are headed to NC for Memorial day weekend. We are going to the Nascar race that weekend, so we will be staying in Charlotte.

mishoe01- Glad to see you posting here too! Good luck with your commitments!!

Anniet- Good luck getting off the sugar. I know its not easy, but once you do it, its so much easier.

CrzyforPiglet- Try to get off the soda. Thats a killer for sure and nothing but empty calories. The sugar makes you crave more sugar. Good luck on your committments.

Allison- I bet its definately tough being a gourmet chef. Good luck on not picking. You can do it!

Ok, I am going to give this a try for the first time.
My commitment this week is to:
1. do cardio for at least 30 minutes for 5 out of 7 days.
2. do my newly devised weight routine for 4 out of 7 days.
3. drink more water
4. lay off the pasta
Kathy

Just back in from Curves for my first time and can really feel that I worked my muscles. I am going to go back tom. & Friday to get my 3x's in this week.

I am journaling and can see my "problems". It really isn't fun to write it down, but when you remember you are, you tend to think about what you are putting into the mouth.::yes::

Mel-Charlotte is approx. 1 hour from us, you won't be too far away. Hopefully it won't be too hot of a weekend for you. I am taking my Mom & kids to the Outerbanks leaving that Sunday and then DH will come down and join us that Friday.

Good morning everyone,

I did the FIRM Cardio Sculpt this morning. I also did the FIRM Hips, Butt and Thighs last night for the ab work. I didn't get to do the TM like I wanted, but thats ok. There is always tonight.

I got 6 cups of water in, 2 short of my goal. I drank 2 cups so far today.

Tammy, glad the journaling is helping you!! The Outer Banks sounds like way more fun than the NASCAR race. DH and DS are excited and DD is just excited that we won't be home for the Memorial Day parade. She gets out of playing the Oboe in the parade! Me, I am just happy to get a way for a few days.

Kathy- Glad your joining us. Good luck!

Have a happy hump day everyone!

Ok...I'm jumping into this thread as well. I need the motivation/support that you are all giving each other!! I wasn't able to get out and walk today. Or maybe I was too lazy? I've got a sinus thing going on and it was suppopsed to rain and I can come up with lots of excuses today, but tomorrow, I will hit the dusty trail.

1. Check in with Wish again. I had gotten out of the habit and I need to get back to that.

2. Get my 20# clippie! (gotta have a goal there!)

3. No eating after 8PM + drink all water during day and journal every BLT (bite lick and taste)

4. Walk my way to the 1/2 marathon each day that it is not raining this week!

That's probably enough. Thanks for the boost!
~~Beth

Got up and to my utter delight my WI showed me down 1 lb! So that made my tmilling just a "tad" more enjoyable :p

T - I am thinking it's the extra from Curves that has me going again! Hang in there it will be routine in a short time!

BTW - I wanted chips for lunch - I am eating veggies instead - thanks to this thread/board and my BUDDIES to keeping me -in line !!
