Wish cabin choice

We are looking at a cruise on the Wish late next spring and we are trying to decide between two cabins. We've one Disney cruise before and had an inside cabin (we've also had inside cabins on 1 Princess and 1 Royal Caribbean cruise in the past).

For the previous cruses, we purchased wo cabins so our daughters could travel with us. This time, it's just us, so we thought about trying out a verandah.

We've narrowed down to 2 rooms 6700 (04E aft-facing) or 8132 (04B bump out room - port side, near the aft elevators.)

For the 4 nights, 6700 is $256 more than 8132. Hard to judge since few have been on.

It looks like 6700 would give us a bit more room on the balcony and, from what I've seen of other aft-facing verandahs, may have recliners (in addition to chairs) The downside seems to be that the people above you may be able to see part of your verandah - no big deal to us.

One downside of 6700 is that it's as far as you can get from the elevators. On the flip side, 8132 might be too close lol

Any thoughts? Anything else I should think about when making the decision?

Since most on here have yet to sail on the wish, you may need to wait for more opinions on this until after the maiden voyage.

I would personally go for the room on Deck 8. The aft facing verandah's don't hold a lot of value to us when traveling however it sounds like that larger veranda space might be something your looking for?

Enjoy your trip no matter what you decide!

I took a look at the Wish deck plans and my vote would be for 8132. First of all, it is closer to the middle of the ship so there will be less noticeable movement than the aft stateroom (which is important for our family as one of our kids is sensitive to motion). Secondly, the bump out looks like it will have a slightly larger verandah than a cat 4 on the Dream or Fantasy (which we routinely book) without the privacy issues that might arise with the aft facing verandah. (With the Wish being LNG, soot on the aft verandahs should not be an issue anymore.) As far as the elevators go, I would not be concerned at all as on the Magic we once stayed in a stateroom that was closer to the elevators than 8132 is on the Wish and we never had a problem with noise. We usually took the stairs and occasionally the elevator, and we found that it was nice to have them close to our stateroom.

Great points, thank you!

I do suffer from motion sickness on ships, rides, cars, etc. On cruises or at the theme parks, I wear the Scop patch which helps immensely, but still good to keep this in mind.

Another vote for the mid-ship location. Some folks might be concerned about noise from the elevator lobby but our experience with the rest of the fleet is that there is really no problem from that. I'd expect the Wish to be just as quiet.

We booked 8132. I think we'll prefer the closeness to the elevators/stairs.

After we booked, I found this video from cabin 6700. It doesn't look like the people above you can see much of your verandah. The lack of loungers is disappointing. I know things are likely to change before next spring, but I would have been really disappointed to book that room and not have loungers out on the verandah.

I wonder how far I would get if I tried to drag one off the pool deck? ;)

Think you made a good call. I was about to chime in that I would also pick 8132 for two additional reasons: looks like 6700 has the flag right next to it and I know sometimes they need to lower/replace the flag and it can be weird to have someone right outside your room like that (plus the flag flappy side can get annoying); and (2) I prefer the plexiglass verandahs midship to the metal rail ones aft since you get more of an ocean view when sitting down.

Rooms at the very aft of the ship are a long walk from the nearest stairs/elevator. We were 8678 on the MV and each day of the cruise the walk seemed longer!

Thought I would just post about our stateroom 6162 on the MV…it was not sold as having an obstruction but I think it should of been …right below our stateroom were these white drums that I think hold life boats ….when you were sitting in the chairs it blocked some of your view of the water. It wasn’t terrible but I certainly wouldn’t choose this cabin again.

We have this room (8132) booked for a Dec cruise. Can you tell me what the room theme was? We also have the connecting room (8130) if you know for that room as well.
