Wish Book Prices

Hi!
Just a question...Are the prices on wish book accurate? I've been basing my budget off of that...and come in under budget...or at least what mom and dad want to spend. I don't want to surprise my parents with an outrageous bill in the end.
TIA

Oooh, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but many of them are out of date (although some are listed as more expensive than they really are, if that helps!). Plus, there are WAY more options available in just about every area than are listed in the Wish Book, including some that could save you money.

The way I made my sample budget when I was trying to figure out if we could afford a DFTW was to use the prices of the elements I wanted that were listed in BEOs and Planning Journals posted on this board. Although some of these prices will change between when those people signed their contracts and when you sign yours, usually things only go up by a few dollars here and there. Usually... :rotfl:

One thing I wish I'd known was that your Wedding Consultant (the sales person who works with you on the contract and stuff) can draw up an estimated proposal of what your wedding will cost for you.

Hope this helps! :thumbsup2

No they are not. Last week I went through the process of possibly changing from an Escape to Wishes and got a more accurate 'estimate' thing from one of the planners. A lot of the things on the Wishbook are inaccurate. For example, the Wishbook says the rental price for SeaBreeze Point is $1,500. It's actually $2,000. I would call DFTW and ask for an estimate proposal so that you get the real numbers.

Thanks...it helps some. I have attempted to put together what ours will look like from a financial standpoint and thought I was doing pretty well. I know I can put in a date request at 1 year out...but how do I get my hands on the pricing guides-other than going through BEO's here? Does that come in the planning guide with the CD they send you???

When I was there on Thursday to book the wedding, the lady said the prices had just been changed in October. Unfortunately, she said they are based on gas prices so naturally they went up. Hopefully they'll continue to follow that trend now that gas has gone down!;)

For some reason mine wish book has everything al a carte...it wasn't put together like a package for an Escape wedding. :confused3 Could it have set me up on a Wishes wedding???

It seems no matter what, ever year the price goes up no matter what the gas price is.

It sounds like your in the wishes section.

I definitely didn't know they can give you an estimate before hand? That would have been great to know! How does this happen? Who does it?
I guess its a bit too late now!

Unfortunately, they don't have pricing guides - there are just too many factors involved in what something will cost. Sometimes even the planners don't know the price! And if your planning session is more than 6 months out, they can't give you prices then either.

If you have specific prices you need, PM me and I'll see if I know any of them.

Your Wedding Consultant (the person who draws up your contract, not the one who runs your planning session) does it, but it seems like you have to know to ask about it. It woulda saved me a lot of work too!
