Thinking of booking a 3 night cruise on the Wish. Can we request a dining rotation that doesn't include the Marvel restaurant? And if so, how likely is that our request would be granted?

TIA

Marvel was our favorite night. Are you not Marvel fans? I could see not being interested if you don’t know the characters.

On a three night cruise you will be in all three restaurants. There isn't a rotation that skips one.

Thankyou for the replies. No, not marvel fans at all, haven't a clue who the characters are!
Ah I was thinking there are 4 rotational restaurants for some reason. I guess we'd have to suck it up for one night!

No, you can not customize which restaurants you eat at. The ship guest are split in 3, with each third going to one of the restaurants. Everyone rotates and eats at each one of the restaurants. That is just how Disney does it. Either you go to that restaurant or you can order room service. The food on the pool deck closes at 6 so you can get something before then also.
I wouldn't let not being a fan of Marvel worry you. Ultimately, you are there for the food, the bit of entertainment is just a bonus. You can still enjoy the show without knowing who a single character is. Truly, this is a non issue.

Unfortunately I don't think they change rotational dining routine locations you can always ask on the DCL website on the live chat and ask them to put it on request but I can't guarantee due to the table number.
If they unable to swap it to a different restaurant There's one thing you might enjoy and that's pressing the button on the Marvel Quantum Core machine and really great fun.

You will be assigned to all 3 dining rooms. If you really don’t want to eat at the Marvel restaurant, after you board you can check whether Palo has any availability for the night you’re assigned to Marvel. Or, you can just focus on your meal and not pay much attention to the story.

I wanted to add that there are a lot of people that go on the Disney cruises and have not seen many of the movies. But that does not mean that you won't enjoy it or that you should feel like you need to skip a specific dining room. Like I posted before, ultimately you are there for the food. The theme should not be a deal breaker. You never know what you will end up enjoying.

No. You might want to request a rotation that has Marvel on the first or second night, though. Whichever restaurant you're at on the final night will also be your breakfast restaurant on debarkation morning, so if you don't want to be scheduled there twice, you don't want your final night's dinner to be there.

True. But the breakfast will be a regular meal. No show.

The OP didn't say it was only the show she wanted to avoid. She might also dislike the theming and prefer to spend time at one of the other MDRs for that reason.

For what it’s worth, we passed on the Marvel night because we’re more of a Disney classics sort of family. Marvel isn’t our thing at all and we felt that it would take away from the Disney magic for us. We also avoid the Avengers Campus area of California Adventure for the same reason. Just not our cup of tea.

How far in advance do you learn your rotation so you can attempt to plan specialty dining, etc?

Only upon arrival. That is annoying because it would be nice to be able to plan specialty dining around your favorite MDR dinners, but I understand why DCL doesn't tell people in advance. They'd then have to field all of the change requests.

Thankyou for all the replies.

We normally go to Cabanas on our debarkation morning - does Marceline Market serve breakfast on the last day?

You can also plan around pirate night for cruises that have pirate night with pirate cuisine and you're not interested in partaking in pirate cuisine....
