UGH! I'm getting my one wisdom tooth on the bottom left side of my mouth~ and it really hurts! I'm only fourteen~ and I know a lot of people who haven't gotten their's yet. Have any of you guys got yours? And if so, how old were you when you got them?! It really hurts!

I think one is coming in...which isn't good...my bro just had all 4 removed...

I only have 2 (the other two are nonexistant in my mouth..lol) and both are impacted so they won't be coming through. I'm supposed to get them taked out, but I'm not unless they start bothering me. My brothers and dad still have theirs in and their's never bothered them, so we have a pretty good track record (knocks on wood)

My mom had all four of her's taken out, but my dad still has his, hopefully I can keep mine!

Just keep telling your dentist that you'll talk to your parents about it when he tells you have to take them out. ;) That's what I do. Then I throw the oral surgeons business card out the window when I drive home. :teeth:

I never really felt mine coming in. But I had just turned 15 when I got them taken out. I was only a Sophomore. My brother and sister were in their senior years when they got theirs taken out.

Just a warning...if they say get them removed get them removed...wisdom teeth are often removed because they are so far back you can't brush them and there roots have a tendency to hit nerves in you jaw and paralyze your face...or at least for my brother and cousins it was gonna

speaking of wisdom teeth... I need to get four impacted wisdom teeth taken out this month :guilty:

My dentist said that it could make your teeth crooked :confused3
And I just got my braces off and I do NOT want crooked teeth again >.<

My dentist never said that mine were endangering nerves and such. He just said I should get them out. He didn't really give any reason. He's dope though. I hate my dentist so bad.

That stinks! I would definitely get mine out if I was in your situation too.

my top two came in fine. yeah, they hurt, but its nothing you cant deal with.

my bottom ones are coming in now. i think they might need to be removed. i dunno though. we dont have dental insurance right now (my mom got a job with the state of tennessee, and our insurance has been switching over. we just have basic coverage, and our dental doesnt kick in until the begining of the year)
so whatever needs to happen is just going to have to wait.

None of mine have come in yet. I'm 17, lol.
But I'm going to get them taken out before they break through the gums anyways.

If you need to have them removed you should have it done ASAP because when you are older they are much more developed and it hurts waaaaaay worse for a variety of reasons. Also, the younger you are the less likely you are to have some very horrible complications like dry socket and permanent nerve damage.

I had all three of my impacted wisdom teeth removed about 12 days ago. They had just formed because my teeth all formed very late in life (I'm 18 now) and I had no pain through the entire thing. So now I have a bottle of Vicadin I never even needed. My stitches fell out a few days ago and I didn't even notice. I would suggest going to an oral surgeon, they're very good at what they do. I had IV sedation and while it wasn't "fun"... it was all just a big blurr.

They might rot the surrounding teeth, misalign your teeth, get infected or rot, or they can damage your nerves if you do not have them removed. And trust me, braces hurt waaaaaaay more than having your wisdom teeth pulled (it costs more too and isn't covered as well by insurance). I've heard having infected wisdom teeth is pretty horrible too.

I had all four of mine taken out freshman year.
It hurt sososososo bad. I remember it was really hard to eat stuff, because I couldn't feel my jaw, and so I would be spilling all over my face and have NO IDEA. haha. not funny. D:
So that was basically the suckiest week of my life. But its over, which means I don't have to deal with it later on? hahah. I looked really funny, too. My face was so puffy.

wisdom teeth are lame. >:O

According to my orthodonist, I have one starting to grow in. But I can't feel it and honestly? Even if it does start to hurt I'm not letting anyone pull it.

Just the thought of having people cut into my mouth freaks me out. :headache:

I don't think that mine need taken out, really, I don't. I hope not, at least. I mean, the one that hurts, is just because it's coming in, and trying to pop through the gums....it hasn't done that yet. I can see the tooth under the gums though.
