So were going to Oshkosh, Wi. We can’t check into our hotel in Kimberly, WI till 3. We want something within an hour or so of Kimberly (but not in Oshkosh) to do that will take a few hours. We've done all the Appleton/Neenah/Menasha stuff. I’ve looked for days and cant seem to get anywhere. Any Wisconsinites wanna give me some ideas? The children are 10 and 11.

Check out Door County Wisconsin...they call it the Cape Cod of the Midwest...It is a beautiful area!

Well - I know you mentioned you didn't want Oshkosh suggestions - but the EAA has a way-cool museum too!

How about a waterpark that offers day passes? There are some in WI Dells, which might be over an hour, or there is Blue Harbor Resort in Sheboygan, which is about an hour from Oshkosh.

Blue Harbor is a smallish waterpark and a few hours would probably be enough for kids that age.

When are you coming? There is also the Wade House if you are into history, but it doesn't open again until May.

Come on down to Madison. It's about an hour away, but there are children's museums, art museums, visit the capitol, shopping on state street, a free zoo, if it's a weekend, the farmers market goes on. There are botanical gardens, and lots of fun little things to do. Plus there are always free events going on. Definitely a fun city to visit. I didn't see when you are visiting, if it's this weekend, you can check out the protest, or the polar plunge or umm....other stuff. If you want links, let me know and I can find some great stuff for you.

Also, if you want to travel a bit further, House on the Rock would be a fun place to visit, the kids would probably really enjoy it.
