So I got a laptop with wireless capabilities and was wondering where you use your laptop while traveling? Is there a way to connect to the internet from anywhere like a prepaid card? Or do you go to wifi locations to connect? I'm lost! Help!

There are several options with a wireless-enabled computer.

1) There are hotspots at most (if not all) Starbucks. In our area, there are lots of other hotspots, too. (A hotspot is a place that provides a FREE wireless internet connection).

2) Some hotels, like Courtyard by Marriott, that cater to business travelers have free high speed connections. Not all are wireless, but they even provide the connection cord, so that's really cool. And most campgrounds offer either wireless or high-speed hookups at the campsites. Disney just started offering cable hookups at Fort Wilderness. They charge for it.

3) Some wireless phone providers sell an aircard. It costs around $70 and you have to pay a monthly charge. I'm pretty sure Sprint and Verizon offer them, don't know about other carriers.

Actually, you can do both. Most Borders and Barnes & Noble Bookstores have free WiFi access. We stayed at a Homewood Suites in South Carolina that had free WiFi access in their lobby. The Peabody Orlando had free access it in all of their guestrooms but the connection was very slow. Disney has WiFi access on their cruise ships but you pay a fee for it. I believe they also offer it in the lobby of some of their deluxe resorts for $10/24 hr period.
