Hi

I've read that people bring their own wireless routers to disney resorts so they have wireless internet in their rooms. Has anyone done this with a british router? Would it make a difference?

Hoping to be able to use my iPad while away.

Thanks

I don't think it would make a difference, assuming the power is ok, US plug outlets have less power than ours.

Really just wanted to post to say I like your username tho :)

It shouldn't make a difference but I'll have a definite answer for you if you can wait a few weeks as I plan to try this myself next trip with my Airport Express.

I have one of these(UK version) Used it numerous times in US, just last month used it for 21 nights at OKW with 3 laptops connected. No problems using the router but Disney internet is not the fastest in the World, I am used to 20GB service at home, Disney connection was 0.5GB, 40 times slower. This was Ok for general browsing but when we tried uploading to You tube it was no use trying to browse the net.

:lmao: I'm a master at stalking WDW finding those hotspots

Think we need a list for future reference :thumbsup2

Earl of Sandwich, Wolfgang Puck Express and the kitchen store, all at DTD Marketplace.
Wintersummerland
Innoventions at Epcot

A nice start :rotfl2:

I'm disappointed. I was looking forward to "stand on one leg infront of the castle, raise your left arm and face east and every 3rd hop will get you connected briefly"

While waiting outside Cheesecake Factory at Mall at Millenia - The valet parking kiosk outside has free wifi. Could connect from where we were sitting in CF :thumbsup2

Cheers Luke, will give it a go with my home router. Assume that I just plug in and go?

Glad you like my username. :goodvibes When not at WDW you'll usually find me with my flask of Bovril on the lower centenary.

Quick question - I have an iPhone 4 and whilst I have no intention of using it for calls or texts I was wondering if I could use it to connect wirelessly to the Internet for facebook etc in these wifi zones?

Yep, just make sure cellular data is set to 'off'
