Shopping for cell phone service , would like to get opinions .

Are you happy with who you are with, and is the price reasonable? How about the phone itself?

Anyone I should avoid?

I am looking to get a plan with 2 phones (a "family plan" of sorts).

The quality of cell phone reception varies greatly depending on where you live. I think the most useful thing you can do to compare carriers is ask people in your area who they use and if they are happy.

As for your original question. I am with Verizion and I am very happy with their service. My bill in total is about $35 a month and I never go over my minutes. I forget how many minutes I have right now. I think it might be 500 anytime minutes with free nights and weekends. My plan also includes long distance and roaming. Hope this helps!

I just changed to Nextel from Sprint after several years, because I wanted to add a second phone and couldn't get a discount from Sprint. I pay $39/month+ $15 for the second phone on their family plan, and I really like their direct connect feature (like a walkie-talkie).

I have Verizon wireless and I have never really had a problem with them.

My cell phone is my work line, so I use most of my time during the daytime hours. At the time I signed up 3 years ago, they were offering an extra 2500 nights and weekends minutes and I still get that. I pay $170/month for 2500 daytime minutes and the 2500 nights/weekends plus my BF has the second phone. He doesn't use his much. We share all the minutes, but we have unlimited mobile to mobile to each other. We never use up all our minutes. They have a plan called America's Choice or something like that for the long distance/roaming and it pretty much covers most of anywhere I would ever travel.

We have done all right with ATT Wireless. Dan has a good point, about talking to locals though.

OT, we have two new kittens! They are rotten to the core. Is it normal for them to beat the crap out of one-another, though? They are sweet and docile to us, so don't seem to have any personality disorders. Hope you don't mind me asking!

I have Sprint and can't WAIT to drop them.

Verizon is great - kinda expensive - but they have great coverage.

DH has a nextel...I'm hoping to get on his plan when my contract with sprint expires in December.

We use Nextel and if u are going to have more than one person on the same plan it is nice to be able to Use there direct connect feature like walkie talkie...

Also in the Constructuion business alot of people of the trade use them and i can be called with the feature ...

Do they fight constantly, or just sometimes? Its normal for cats to fight and chase each other. Do they hiss and growl too? Cats will wrestle each other - it may look like mean fighting but its really the way they play. Its only "real" fighting when there's a lot of hissing and growling and spitting and hair standing up. Otherwise, they are "playing rough".

Thanks 4 all the feedback!

They fight, they play and the cuddle. They also bite each other and kick one another in the face! They do the big cat puff and hiss, but that seems to be a part of reg. play. Thanks for the prof. opinion!

I will stop worrying about them.

I have Verizon and I'm happy with them. (And I don't live far from Philly.) :)

I have had cigular for many years and have been very happy with them, my dh has nextel with his job and they have been nothing but trouble so I think it depends on where you are. We have cugular nation with an extra line and roller over minutes and we have never paid roaming or long distance. My ds used the extra phone when he was in texas last year and it really worked out great for us.

We have a family plan with 4 phones through Verizon. We are very happy with the service. As far as phones go - I have a Motorola T730C and I DO NOT LIKE IT!!! It randomly ends the calls, it does not drop them it ends them as if I hung up. When I first got the phone I complained so the sent me a new one, the same thing happens with this one. DD & DH have had Kyocera and been happy with them, DS just got a new Kyocera and he likes his as well.

We have Alltel and HATE them with a passion!!! DH and I wish that someone else would have a promotion were they would buy out your contract if you went with them.

DH and I both agreed that if another wireless provider did this, we would go with them!!! There is no way we can afford to just give $400 over to Alltel to cancel our contracts {2 phones, 2 lines}.

Anybody has to be better then Alltel. All they do is give us excuses about their service. To them the reason we don't have good reception for in our house is because we have aluminum {?} siding. LOL!!! That is nothing but a joke!!! My father has Verizon can go anywhere in his house while talking on his cell phone and not get dropped what so ever. In my house I have to almost hang out the window to talk on the phone. And the bad thing is, our cell phones are our primary phone now. We dropped our landline cause it was costing way to much. There would be weeks were it was never used, but of course we were still paying $65-$75 a month for it. :earseek: Plus we also had our wireless phone on top of that has free long distance, so we figured we woould just get rid of the land line.

DH and I would like to have the walkie talkie type of phones, but we are not going to pay out the you know what for two with Alltel. I guess maybe at tax time we might fork over the cash to get away from them.

I love my T-Mobile. Just got back from Europe and used it all over to call back here.

We have ATT, and loved the initial plan, no roaming or long distance within our area, however, they ended this particular plan and it gets really confusing, our 2 year contract is up at the end of the month and ATT keeps sending us stuff...

However, Ive heard that cingular bought the ATT wireless service, but att can still rent, sell service... so I'm so confused!!

Apparently I've read if we wait, there will be new offers towards the end of July...

I'm not real thrilled with the new color camera phones, they are offering so much, and it gets expensive, just give me a phone... I have a camera already... maybe I'm missing something!

I got verizon wireless, no complaints but my phone is getting a little out dated
