Does anyone know which wireless internet cards (att, verizon, etc) will work at the Fort? I don't think I can live w/o my internet for 8 days
Before I buy one I'd like to know if it will work. THANKS!

I know Verizon works well for us when we're there.

My Sprint aircard works great at the Fort. BTW, if you search the forum using the term "aircard" you will get 35 threads worth of discussion on them at the Fort.

Our Sprint has worked great the last couple years all over the fort...and the entire ride to WDW...Slingbox all the way. :cool1:

Verizon has been good for me.

I used a Verizon card last week and had great reception the whole time. I've looked at the coverage maps for all the carriers and I think all of the wireless companies have good high speed coverage at the Fort.

If you have a 3G phone or blackberry and a data plan, check with your service provider. many of the phones can be used as cellular modems (like the one i'm on). And they work at the fort :)

Since FW is in a major metro area, all of the large and probably most of the smaller wireless providers should work fine. A few years ago we took a cross country trip and I was able to check coverage for specific areas of the country on both Verizon's and AT&T's websites. You might try that if you want to be extra cautious.

FWIW we travel down 95 from NH and the Verizon card works pretty much the entire way.

Slingbox? Seems like you would run up against your 5gb limit pretty quickly, slinging movies over your aircard.

Actually when you set the slingplayer setting lower it doesn't eat up a whole lot of bandwidth. I also do a slingbox but on my last trip the home internet went down for a few hours and I couldn't make it work from out and about.

I also think some of us sprint card users that had the plans longer might be grandfathered in on the old unlimited plans. My plan still says unlimited and I have never seen any kind of notice that they are changing it on me or anyone else. I only know about it from what I heard through different message boards.

the g1 with tmobile you can also do that with. But there are a few things you have to do first to get that to work. I am still tring to work on this.
By the way mcdonalds has free wifi now too.
