I am going to WDW at the end of Sept and I was wondering what are the accommedations for internet service in the hotels???

I will be bring my laptop that is wireless and I want to make sure that it is available to use while I'm down there... to send pictures, check pictures for the photopass and such....

PLEASE HELP!!!!!:lmao:

No wireless internet at the POP. There is WIRED access available in your room, for the price of 9.95 per day.

Even the wireless spots around WDW (BWI, CR, and CSR are the ones I remember off the top of my head) are limited and charge the same fee.

i have tried to get this clear before, I am told it is not 9.95 per day but 9.95 per 24 hr period. Does this mean a charge of 9.95 in increments of 24 hrs
example
0 - 24 hrs 9.95
24 - 48 hrs 19.90
48 - 72 hrs 29.85 etc

this is much more resonable than 9.95 per day..

No, not really.

It is 9.95 per 24 hour contiguous period. So, if you pay the 9.95 at noon on Tuesday, you'll get to use it til 11:59 AM on Wednesday (though I half remember reading somewhere that may have changed to simply "9.95 for Aug 29th til midnight no matter when you choose to purchase" so double check that).

What you can't do is use it for 2 hours on Monday, 3 hours on Tuesday and 5 hours on Wednesday and only get charged 9.95, since you only "used" it for 10 hours.

You are correct it is $9.95 per 24 hour period. We found that it was just as easy, and a lot cheaper, to use dial up while we were there. Go to Walmart or Target before leaving home and get one of the free trail offer disks for AOL. Load it on your laptop and lookup the local access number for AOL in Lake Buena Vista or Kissimmee. Then when you want to use the internet you just connect through the phone and it costs you nothing. We did this at CR last summer and it worked great. Dial up is a little slower but we dealt with it. I used it for PhotoPass, email and updates with clients.

Good luck and have a great time!!

thanks for clearing that up, I have high speed at home but kept my old email account for a small fee, I can also pay hrly for internet, looks like I'll do that again, it wasn't even all that slow...
:goodvibes:

Will the hotel give you an ethernet cable or do you have to bring one?

I use www.budgetdialup.com. It allows you to pay only for the time used without any contracts. I use it when I'm traveling. No need to sign up for a monthly dial up account.
