After the new construction is finished I am planning on putting some large plants like grasses, evergreens, stuff like that in large pots on the deck. I know they would have to winter outside.

My question is about the pots. I'm afraid great big ceramic or terra cotta ones would break with the freezing cold, but I dont like the look of plastic.

So, what do I put them in?????

I don't like the look of plastic either. I put the plastic pots inside my good pots and cover the top with sphagnum moss. It makes it a little easier for me to move them around and repot them.

Vanessa,
My friend has the big terra cotta pots outside on her deck all winter with her plants and has never had a problem.
