Winter

Hi,
My familys first trip to WDW will be for the christmas week....I was wondering if we are leaving from somewhere snowy and extremely cold do you bring your winter jackets???They are just so big and bulky thought maybe wearing them just to the airport and putting sweaters on the kids till we get to Florida....Or will it be that cold in Florida that we will need them....It's a stupid question but i don't want to lug more than i have to...

We're going to So Cal in Dec. and I'm concerned about the same thing. Right now I'm planning on having us each wear a polartec pullover. They're warm and light weight so I'm hoping it won't be a problem. We've tried leaving our coats in the car on other trips but they're too cold to put on when we get home.

I second the polartec option. Also when you go the the airport do you go right from the car inside or need to spend a considerable time outdoors getting there and back ? When we go we go from the house to the car to the airport terminal spending maybe 10 mins outside in the cold so a heavy jacket isn't needed.

I sure wouldn't bring a heavy winter coat. My in-laws live in Daytona Beach and say in December the lowest temp would be in the 40's and that would be mornings and evenings. I would be sure to bring a sweatshirt, a light jacket and both long sleeve and short sleeve shirts.

We leave the heavy winter coats in the trunk of the car at the airport and just wear our polar fleece jackets. In the winter you'll want polar fleece or something similar at WDW anyhow--it can get downright chilly! Brrrr......

I usually bring earmuffs and gloves as well--my ears are always cold!
