any one from around there have you heard of full sail school for entertainment?

I have heard of it--what would you like to know?

Very reputable school and they make lots of independent films. The students do really well. One student (I think it may even be her first year) got her screenplay picked up.

dd is a senoir this year and is looking to attend this school wondered about the area , safety where its located and if any one has met some one who attended? thanks

Feralpeg might be able to help you out. She's from that area and while her daughter does not attend...she may have done some acting jobs with them.

Had it been around when I graduated high school--I would have totally gone to it.

I think the area is rather safe..Feralpeg might be able to answer that better.

My nephew just moved to Winter Park, FL., to attend the community college there. His roommate is going to school for something like record producing and may be in the school you mentioned. From talking to my sister, there are lots of college students that live in the area. We are from a very safe suburb in Kansas, and my sister hasn't mentioned that there is anything unsafe about that area.

Full Sail is an excellant school, although pretty expensive. Since it is a trade school and not a college, anyone can get in as long as you have the money. You can be trained in various forms of film production, media production (video games, web design) and record/cd production. Based on what you take, you can be certified in a certain area or receive an actual BA. To get a BA, you have to take a number of business course in addition to the technical courses. DD has auditioned for several films produced by students of Full Sail. If I had the money and thought I wouldn't look like an idiot for being the oldest student on the campus, I'd love to take some courses there.

Full Sail is practically around the corner from where I live. UCF is abt 5 miles away as well as Rollins College, so there are A LOT of college students in this area.
It is a pretty nice area, as far as college areas go. Winter Park proper is a little pricey, but if you stay on the edges or some of the neighboring areas, prices are not too bad.
Full Sail is about a 10-15 minutes drive from downtown Orlando, about 35-40 minutes from WDW and about an hour from Cocoa Beach. (All of this is depending on traffic.)
I know some people that go to the school, so let me know if there are any specific questions you have and I will be happy to ask them.

I don't know anything about the quality of the school. But my parents live less than a mile from it and it is located in a safe area .
