Winter Dec 25 - Jan 26 Direct Incentives

You can't do everything! There is nothing wrong with doing one in year A, and the other in year B. None of these resorts are going anywhere.
The voice of reason. The advice I should probably follow.
I remember when I was buying akv a "flash sale" came out and it ended after about two and a half weeks, way sooner than the current incentive period, but I *think* the end date being sooner had been announced at the time of sale
TBH, this would probably be good for me. Then I won’t even be tempted. As of right now, the CCV flash sale goes through 2/9. My stay at CCV ends 2/7. That timing is also dangerous because you’re always freshly pixie dusted leaving WDW. Even moreso with a trip in winter if you’re returning somewhere somewhat cold (such as PA, where I live).

Judging by the surveys theyre sending people, I think booking window advantages are coming in the future. How, I dont know.

I think they will make having a trust resort appealing in some ways and imo that will be the ability to have home resort priority in multiple resorts.

They have to make these rising prices appealing as resale costs less and less. Maybe having a trust resort will be the good hedge if your in it for the long haul as I think most of us are 🤣 I already got three of these old school deeded 🤣

Sorry...I've not been keeping up on a lot of threads. What is a trust resort?

That is dangerous because I just left and wish to purchase 🤣🤣

Have you watched the golf cart seasonal parades on you tube? I have a ton of FOMO. I want to be one of those people, but I just dont think we ever will be. Would be so fun to experience once though! I can see why the cabins are so hard to get at the Halloween/Christmas seasons.
What price would get you to buy SSR, everyone has a breaking point 🤣

Im sure someone else can explain this much better, but right now most of the resorts we own are deeded real estate and now they are putting newer resorts into a trust instead of deeded real estate. They did this after Riv.

The trust gives Disney more flexibility to do what they want so many of us perceive this as beneficial to Disney moreso than us, but there's not enough info about how its going to work, which makes it a scary unknown to some.

The CFW and likely LSL will be sold as interests in a trust, as opposed to deeded interests in a unit within a condominium association. When you buy there, you'll own interests in a trust and then the trust, in turn, will own the residential units at your home resort.

There are a lot of ways in the selling timeshares through a trust gives the potential for greater flexibility for Disney. To date, everything works exactly like current DVC, but there is the potential for changes with a trust structure. No one knows whether any of those potential changes will ever come to fruition. Some are convinced it is all bad and just gives Disney more control and power over DVC while others expect not much to come from it other than minor changes here and there. For example, one thing that will easily benefit Disney is that if they ROFR resales of the trust, there won't be a unit to which they have to match points to resell them - will make ROFR buying and reselling much easier for Disney.

Personally, I don't think they will suddenly make drastic changes to how DVC operates. The trust does give them greater flexibility and room for evolution in the future, but exactly how that will shake out remains to be seen and I think any changes will be slow and over time. But, none of us know for sure.

I tend to think it will actually work out better for the trust owner, especially if they do the multiple resorts early booking, we shall see!

Honestly if they do stuff when im direct like limit lounge access to direct points stays only, that would make me want direct even less.

Because I wouldnt trust that they wouldnt pull some more bs like only people that own at a trust resort can stay at a trust resort or something like that. They've been good at grandfathering people into what they were getting themselves into so i wouldnt worry about that.

I think a lot of people would be pissed if they play games like that, but we will see if they care 🤣
I highly doubt DVC would ever differentiate between it's own direct points. If you buy from Disney direct, you get the perks (whatever they may be). It would cause so much confusion and the deeded resorts go through 2074 with VDH!

It would make no sense for them to do it either. The whole reason to make things different is to encourage direct sales.

As I have been mauling over trading CCV resale to CCV direct, a thought of Lakeshore came to mind. If I wait for LSL to go on lodge, when are points loaded if the resort is not open yet? Is there anything weird that I need to be aware of in this scenario?

Points will show up when when buy but you can not use them for any bookings until the resort officially opens.

Your dues will also be prorated to the opening date of the resort and not from the day you buy.
