Winter Change of Plans!

"Wow" doesn't begin to cover it! What's left to say but , "enjoy"!

Thank you! I am so looking forward to this. However, I have been spending January in WDW for awhile now, and by the end of my trip, I am always ready to go home. Communal living starts to wear on me, and I also miss the snow. For real.

I don't miss snow, but I miss my dog, Belle. This year's trip is about 8 days shorter than last year's!

Yes, I understand. I'm looking for alternative boarding for Belle. I have some friends who may be interested. What I really hope is that Belle will get along with Ellie and Lilly, our DS's dogs. This DS lives in Florida, but Lilly is unpredictable, and has never met Belle. Our other DS also has 2 dogs who get along with Belle (who is older, rescued, very gentle) but they're just beginning a family, one 9 month old and another baby on the way!

We are not locked into using DVC for winter stays in Florida. I have a year to explore alternatives. One just may be staying with DS in Florida. We would have our own apartment.

Meanwhile, this year I intend to enjoy what we have planned!

Have a wonderful time during your January vacation!! My DH and I will be down for our first stay at VWL (own at BWV) towards the end of the month. We are looking forward to getting out of the Ohio cold too!!

We have been researching Tennessee as a retirement option as well...great minds think alike.

Enjoy the VWL! I love the ambiance there, and the springs pool.

There is snow predicted as we head out tomorrow!

Have fun! I've seen you posting on threads relating to the GFV... Are you going to swing by SSR during your stay to see if the models are open?

Bobbi, have a wonderful stay. And I think Tennessee is probably a good choice, If you want to avoid snow and ice, you could move here to our area, but the summer gets so very hot. I wish I was at WDW this month to see you, but unfortunately until I retire totally this is my busy season. Have a good time at VWL-I recommend the "Roarin Forks" salad-I think it's a specialty salad there, very good!

Have a wonderful trip Bobbi! You are living my "dream"! My husband is just a few years away from retirement. We live in south central PA and I do NOT like winters (especially snow and ice). Afraid to drive in it so that leaves me stuck at home.

It's fitting, there's a fresh snowfall as we're leaving. DH is on his way to the kennel with Belle, then it's off to Macon GA, our stop for the night.

PS. Simba's mom, yes, I enjoy that salad a LOT! I've taken the boat over from BLT just to enjoy it! Here's hoping our vacations overlap in 2013!!!!

PPS. Almost missed the reference to GF! Yes, if the models are opened, I'll get there. The last resort I'm staying at is OKW, and I'll enjoy the boat rides to SSR and the models. However, I'm hoping that the details are announced on the MC.
