Have any of you tried these tapes and what were your results?

A friend of mine let me borrow her tapes and I have done the 20 minute tape a couple of times and the 1 hour advanced tape today. I'm not sure if I like it. I like the concept but feel like they don't do enough repetitions on some of the exercises. Usually after a good workout, my muscles are sore the next day. I haven't had that yet with these tapes. The only thing that was sore was the front of my foot from pointing my toes!

I'm not going to give up on it. I will keep it up for a little while and hopefully will see some results.

I'm just wondering how everyone else feels about this program.

Thanks!:wave2:

I'm surprised nobody's replied to this yet since i know there are a few ppl here who do Winsor. I don't do Winsor actually. My Pilates routine is from Denise Austin. But i have seen some of the Winsor tapes and they are not much different than Denise.

My results are simply fabulous. I've lost 4 inches since i started doing Pilates in Dec. with another measurement due on Friday. And i can see my abs really start to define themselves, which was totally unexpected for me. I am also tons more flexible than i was b4 i started and my back feels terrific.

As for soreness, you really shouldn't experience any. Pilates is something you can do every day without overworking the abs. And believe me, I did do it everyday for my first 6 weeks of exercise. It works your abs and back effectively and gently if you use good form. It may take awhile to feel the exercise while you do it, but you should start feeling it in a couple of weeks if not sooner. It should never make you sore when you're done.

Definitely don't give up on it. I love it to pieces even though I've added other exercises into my routine. But without it, I would never have made it as far as i have right now. Friday will be my 4 month anniversary here.

I don't have winsor either, but I have a QuickFix pilates and LOVE it! don't give up on it -- you will see great results

Octbride shared lots of great thoughts and i don't have much to add, 'cept my video the instructors makes a comment that pilates shouldn't be an exercise you get used too b/c you should always be able to focus and concentrate more on your muscles the stronger you become.

I love the "stretching yoga" type exercises that pilates are. It will tone and slim your body and improve your flexibility which wasn't always important to me, but i appreciate more now that I have more!

Now I have had sore outer/inner thighs from pilates, but nothing major. Pay attention to how more in control you feel of the exercises and that's where you'll see your progress. Remember it's small concentrated movement and to keep your "core" as still as possible

good luck! can't wait to hear about your results in a few weeks!

I did have a little soreness in my inner and outer thighs after the advanced tape. I guess I'm just used to other workouts were you feel exhausted afterwards and you are sore for days!

This is much gentler and very relaxing. I'm having some trouble with the "rolling" movements. I'm a spaz when it comes to those. I know the positions will get easier as I go.

I'm looking to really tone up and improve my flexibility. I can't believe how stiff I have become. I remember when I could do a split and now I can't even hold my leg up straight in the air for some of these exercises!

I'm glad to hear your success stories with pilates and appreciate the encouragement.

Hi,

I have been doing the Winsor Pilates for awhile now! I really, really love it! To me, it is kind of like super yoga...I have seen dramatic results as well. So don't give up, it takes time. I really like the 22 minute advanced series. This is about all the time I can find in the day as a homeschooling mom of three! It is all I need though. On alternate days I might do the arms or buttock and thigh workout...but only if I have the time. I never feel overworked just peaceful and strong after! Oh, my stomach usually does hurt the day after especially after doing the "teaser" jeesh, that one is major!

Have fun with it and the "rolling/balancing" exercises DO get easier...lol
