Ok... can someone tell me the cost of the Wine Tastings on board? And is it the same for the other tastings?

And what is the cost for the wine packages?

This is for a 7 night cruise! TIA! :goodvibes

We went to a wine tasting in 2007 that was $15. In 2009 we signed up for another one and I did not notice that it was called something different from a regular wine tasting - maybe special or select. Anyway, it was fabulous (expensive) wines and it was $30 per person. I enjoyed it, I just wish I had realized while I was there! Ah well. Anyway, there may be more than one cost level. Just FYI

The premium is $292 and the classic is $189.

Things to keep in mind:
- %15 gratuity is added to your bill when you order it
- %25 discount off of DCL shipboard prices
- The discount minus the gratuity only adds up to about %10 savings
- You get 7 bottles to use where you want, when you want and how you want. Say you only use bottle #1 on nights 1 and 2. So now you have one 'extra bottle'. Use that when they have dessert night (after dinner service) and tell your server to have a bottle of champagne waiting for you when you arrive.
- Your beverage server is in charge of your wine. They will track it down for you if you have any opened bottles from a prior night.
- Same rules if you dine at Palo (unsure about Remy). Just that you have a different server at Palo to be your guide.
- If you match up what DCL is offering to your local wine shop, the prices should be above the $45 price point at your retail outlet for the %25 discount to really matter. What is misleading is that DCL doesn't post the vintage years on the website. One night we had the Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough, my local shop sells it for $16, but that was a 2009 bottle. The bottle we had on the ship was from 2001 which was WAY more expensive than $45.
- You also can upgrade (per night) to their super premium wines like Silver Oak, which is still a steal on the ship vs. retail.

The wine tasting was awesome, especially when they opened a Champagne bottle with nothing more than a champagne glass.

For us, 7 bottles would be far too many. We ended up skipping the wine package, and buying ala cart. We ended up spending $129 for 4 bottles, so save money, and ended up with just the right amount of wine.

Anyone know if they do a 'Mixology class' on the Dream? If so, how much does it cost?
TIA! :goodvibes

We didn't do the wine tasting but we did a few of the others (martini, tequila and beer) and they were all $15/person.
