Wine lists all in one spot?

I've been tearing over the menu section here after making my ADRs the other night, and was curious. Is there a link that anyone has that has wine lists for most of the major restaurants? I don't need prices, I'd just like to see what some of the places have for selection. I consider myself wine savvy, but don't want to be caught off guard by not knowing what I'm going in to. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks for the link...I haven't been to allears in a while. It'll be good to revisit it.

There's very little wine info at allears. If you find a source, please post it. I would love to know too. The swandolphin.com link to Il Mulino has a beautiful wine list that I think is very exciting.

Allears has a wine list for Wolfgang Puck Express & pairing suggestions. I'd love to see that for all the restaurants.

I am a newbie to the wonderful world of wine, so I'd like to do a little advance research.

I don't want to sound like a know it all, as I do when it comes to wine at times, but if you have any questions about parings and such I'm more than willing to give a helping hand. Just drop a line and I'll do what I can.

If you find anything would you please post it!

I would really love to be able to check out the wine menus before booking ADR's & just to be a little better prepped for ordering. Servers never seem to give enough time to check out the food menu & wine list. At least not for me, to be able to figure out pairings! I frequently have to ask for more time to make decisions.

It would be almost impossible to keep wine lists current for all the nice restaurants at Disney. The wine lists are fantastic, and if you need help, all you have to do is ask your server, or the sommolier (sp?) on duty in that restaurant.

Sometimes they will let you have a little taste before you order.

Jiko, CA Grill, Artist Point, Blue Zoo, Flying Fish...the wine lists are quite extensive. So, just go and enjoy!

1) No problem.
2) We got the info for you.
. . . red
. . . white
. . . almost white
. . . kinda red
. . . some with bubbles
3) Hope that helps.

I have a recent wine list from FF. If I can get my scanner networked with the laptop, I'll post it.

I second the idea that a comprehensive wine list would be all but impossible to do. Maybe in a world with excellent "speech recognition" software, someone could input all this into his iPod and voila, we'd all benefit. But otherwise this is a pipe dream. The lists are too long, too variable... and for voice recognition, too French. :)

The AKL has the largest selection of African wines in the U.S. We still buy one of the labels we learned about there. We'll be back in August for some more good wines and martini's at Blue Zoo, CG, GF.
Oh, you can do flights in the World at Epcot. I've done them in France and Germany. Do some sake in Japan.
No I am not in AA. :rotfl:

What does voice recognition have to do with a wine list? I've worked at a wine store for almost ten years and have had every wine name butchered in more than one way, yet still was able to get the person what they were looking for. Pronouncing a wine wrong doesn't mean you don't know anything about it. Sure the lists may be long, so maybe I need to readjust my question. How about wines that people have had currently at the larger restaurants that stick out? That should narrow it down some.

I enjoy wine flights, but not a flight of Sake. Sake is the one thing I would actually dissuade people from buy in my store. It tastes like bad Heiniken beer...and Heiniken isn't very good in the first place. For the record, I'm not in AA either...I just love me my wine with dinner.:shamrock:

One of my favorite wines from Jiko's is a Graham Beck 2003 Pinotage. If I remember any other specific wines from restaurants, I will post. Dh and I will be going in May and I will see if I can pick up wine menus to bring home and post.

Also not AA, just enjoy a nice glass (or 2) of wine.

That would be great SamSam. I love a nice Pinotage, but my store only carried a couple of brands, and they got boring after a while. I do, however reccomend Wilderkrans Pinotage. It's great. Earthy, full of flavor, and some ripe berry flavors. There is nothing wrong with a glass or two...or three, depending on how the day went.

Here's a couple of specifics, that I copied from my notes. Can't say they were outstanding, but very good.

At Jiko, DH had a glass of Porcupine Ridge Shiraz to pair with the Taste of Africa. I chose the Paul Cluver Pinot Noir to go with the Tuna.

In Flying Fish I had:

The Champagne Flight had three 3oz glasses of Champagnes. Although Chris was very generous when pouring! I had Iron Horse Fairy Tale Cuvee '02, Veuve Cliquot Ponsardin "99 and Taittinger La Francaise Brut N.V. . The Iron Horse was just okay, but of course I loved the Taittinger and the Veuve Cliquot!

Thanks, DisneyGuy! I just may take you up on that. I have a great Wine Guy at my local Liquor Store who has been very helpful. He knows my tastes by now & is very patient. He's teaching me alot about the whole process from horticulture to fermentation & explaining why each variable is so important to the taste of the wine.

Sunday, we're doing a Tasting event along the Seneca Lake Wine Trail, which is just a couple hours south of me. I'm looking forward to learning more then, too.

I have to say, I'm having a ball with Wine. I feel like I just discovered a new world. Each uncorking is like Christmas, isn't it?

Finding a good wine guy is like finding a Car Salesman you can trust. Very hard, and very rare. The whole process is amazing, from growing to bottling.
And almost anything in between can effect the tastes you get. One of my favorite things to do is do blind tasting with my friends. Get a few bottles of wine, and maybe two expensive ones, put them in bags and only let people know what the type is and have them write opinions. Seeing who chooses the cheapest is always a blast!

Almost 2 years ago I was in the Finger Lakes and stayed at Chateau Lafayette Reneau's B&B for my honeymoon. My wife isn't a big wine fan, but we had a blast. I got to so many great wineries that I dream about it to this day. My favorite had to have been Heron Hill. Mostly for the view from the building itself. I can't wait to get back there.

I really can't wait to get to WDW so I can have some great wines with some great foods.
