We've never had the chance to eat at WCT on our past two trip to DL. We were thinking of giving it a try for our upcoming trip next week but I'm a bit hesitant after reading some bad reviews about the WOC dining package. Is the regular menu any good? We've booked a the WOC picnic so we would just be eating off of the regular menu.

Don’t take my word for it…but just had the grilled veggie Panini from the lunch menu, it was very good! then the wine country trattoria has a lounge that is located upstairs but above the wine bar, witch is great cause you eat upstairs for the WOC package! The appetizers for the “lounge” area are good, I tried two and I was impressed.

I have a photo of the veggie Panini uploaded..but enjoy…and
The picnic is not from the wine country trattoria menu.. that is separate thing.. you get a boxed lunch type thing….

I would say NO for WOC, but a BIG YES YES YES, for regular lunch or dinner, they have a great menu, and you will not be dissapointed.

Sorry, I may have worded my post wrong. What I meant to say is because we are doing the picnic for WOC, I have no interest in doing the WCT WOC pkg. We would just be going there for lunch or dinner one day.

Mmmmm, love paninis!

With the exception of Cafe Orleans we seem to get lousy service in the sit-down restaurants, so I can't recommend any. I haven't tried WCT but I did Ariel's Grotto (well, the bar) this weekend and it was pretty bad service. While eating our chicken wings we asked for some blue cheese dressing, which the menu said it came with, and a second beer. Instead we got the check dropped 10 minutes later like we'd been kicked out or something.

MARY question..what time was this?? cause it may of been due to the cover charge.. not many people want to pay an extra 10 dollars.. so thy may have been saving you the heartache..

See on Friday nights at 6 pm, is a cover charge of $10..normally they will let you know and you can pay and leave with out it being added on..sat-sun is the same thing but it starts at 7pm! Soooo yeah maybe they were kicking you out so you won’t have to pay the extra $10!

and was it ariel's bar down below or the cove bar uptop??

I haven't tried it recently but it was good the last time I went there. We had good service any everyone was happy with the food.

It was the Cove bar and it was around noon. We had questioned the waitress about the $10 cover option because we were thinking of doing it that night, but then when we told her we already had Fast Passes for the show, she said "Oh, use those, that's a lot better and it's free!" I think a different waitress later took over our table for some reason (we weren't there long, maybe 45 minutes total) and she just totally forgot the dressing and the second beer and dropped the check. I had left the table early to go get FPs for something else so maybe she saw the one empty seat at our six-top and assumed they were all ready to run off. I waitressed for many years and I never dropped a check without asking if there was anything else people needed, but I know it happens. But it's not good service. But it's a theme park, too, and people forget things. If she's like me she probably woke up at 1am remembering our second beer and blue cheese. :rotfl:

This is kind of funny because the place where we had absolutely the worst service in Disneyland or DCA was Cafe Orleans, so we won't go back there ever again. We thought WCT was ok the time we tried it but never felt motivated to return. Haven't tried the new menu though.

Yeah, im curious as to try the new menu also, as long as they still have alfredo lasagna and meatball sandwhich's im still a fan. anybody now what all the new items on the menu are, BTW that is to bad about your Cafe Orleans experience, i love that place and have never had anything but great service there.

I should add that my recommendation is based on a sample of only about six meals at DL sit down restaurants, ever. I'd say 4 were bad service, 2 were good, and for me that's not worth the gamble and the high prices. If Disney is typically good at one thing, it's the service aspect.

ohh ok yeah she probabaly forgot .ive never had my drink forgotten! lol :lmao:

they axed the aflredo lasagna.........but you have to try the new menu!! its VERY good!!!

My gosh, it doesn't matter what restaurant, or attraction you ask about, they're going to be people on this board who say it's the worst ever, or it's their, or their kids favorite in the entire universe. It's good, however to look at the breath of the responses to find the answer your looking for. Enough bad responses should raise a red flag.

Chickencarlos, I looked at the menu and can't find the meatball sub. Do you know if they still have them? That is the only thing I like besides the tiramisu. If its gone, we won't go there, but I will try to get the tiramisu to go!

Forgetting a drink is one thing. Forgetting the dressing that comes with an app AND a drink AND dropping the check without asking if the people are ready for the check is bad service. To me. To each his own. It's not the worst place I've ever eaten. It's not anyplace I'd rush to return. Don't take it personally or try to make my opinion seem alarmist, please. This is where we post opinions, not just raves. :)

We ate there last week for the WOC and actually thought it was pretty good. We're used to decent food (we prefer family run places to chains, can't stand Applebees and such) and were pleasantly surprised. We had great service as well, so you just never know.

Im going to be there in a few weeks for the WOC package. Whats so bad about it? The selection isnt good or what? I also can't help but think they have a little bit of a learning curve the first few weeks which could result in the less than stellar reviews. Hopefully its good though :confused3
