Which do you prefer? When I booked, I wasn't sure which option to choose.

I enjoyed inside more :) although it is a little reminiscent of olive garden :lmao:
The 2 times we ate outside the weather was a factor. Once the sun was beating down on us and we felt fried, (no umbrellas at the time) and the other time the wind was whipping around the patio.

Outside all the way (unless weather is a major issue that day, as LuLusApple stated)!!:thumbsup2 It's all about the ambience and people-watching and soaking in the park's atmosphere. I think that is the only way to go. If you are lucky enough to get a table with a view of one of the parades, even better, but we sat outside even in the 40-degree December evening weather.

Oh, and by the way, if you mention your preference when you make a PS, they only make a note of it - sometimes they can't/won't even do that much. They can't guarantee you that you will sit in your location of choice because it is not a real reservation in the traditional sense. It is a PS. Also, mitigating factors may determine where you sit before you get to WCT and they have no way of predicting how crowded they will be, etc.

I love the outside. Last year we were able to get a table with a great view of the parade and it wasn't very crowded. Our table had an umbrella which shaded us the entire time.

It is Disney dining itself who made me choose inside or outside. I know all about PSs and personally I had no preference because we haven't eaten there yet but the CM insisted I choose. Perhaps they are refining their booking system.

I have never had an experience with Disney Dining where they made me choose anything. They always tell me that they cannot guarantee anything in the way of seating - only that they will "make a note of it." So unless it is a brand spanking new way of refining the system, then I think it is another case of the dreaded syndrome of different CM's in Disney Dining telling different things to different people who call. There have been threads on that very issue, as I am sure you know. People have tried to make requests for where to sit in the past and have been told they can't, so I think it just differs depending on which CM you get. Clearly some of them don't know what they CAN and cannot allow guests to request and so we all get conflicting info.:goodvibes

Very true. We are all just reporting our personal experiences with dining CMs and just because you have "never" experienced it doesn't mean mine wasn't valid though though I can't know if it's true or not, just reporting what was told to me. In the end, I guess it's a good thing I don't have my heart set on one eating in either place. ;)

Hi Jen, last time I made a PS for WCT they didn't ask me my preference. I think it all depends on the CM you talk to.

When I make a PS for any place at DLR I usually make the call on same day. (sometimes as little as 1 hour before) Of course I usually go when it's not too crowded. I've only used PS for WTC and Cafe Orleans. It's a nice feeling to only have to wait a few minutes while others are being told 15-20- or more.

Oh, CO has indoors and out as well. They didn't ask when I reserved, but they did ask if I had a preference when I checked in. It was a nice day so I said outside. 5 min. later they called us and started to seat us inside at one of the tables in the entrance. I (nicely) mentioned that we had requested outside. In about another 5 min. we were seated outside-it was very pleasant (about 4:40 p.m. in March). Food was good too.

Personally, unless it's really cold I don't like seating inside at WTC. One time we were seated right by the door so we were freezing cold anyway. The have more seating ourside than in. And they have umbrellas basically covering all tables. :goodvibes I too love to sit at one of the outside tables and people watch. It's just such a nice way to enjoy our beautiful California weather :sunny: If you time it right you can also see one of the parades/shows go by.

Have fun! Only 3 weeks until you are there!

Hee hee, DD, I made a CO PS the same call and wasn't asked if I had a preference there. Throwing another guess out there - now I am worried I actually hold an Ariel's ADR by mistake, LOL. Isn't the pricing less there if you sit outside? So you probably choose when you book? I think I will confirm my ADRs. Need to change one dining time anyway.

Ariel's is slightly cheaper if you sit outside but you get more athmosphere inside as far as I am concerned, immersed in the experience.

FWIW, two days ago I made a PS for the WCT, and the CM asked whether I wanted to dine "indoors" or "outdoors."

:earsboy:

I was also asked about indoor/outdoor seating when I made a PS for WCT. Maybe we got the same CM. I chose indoor seating because I just don't like eating outside. There are too many factors while seating outdoors, such as weather, bugs, and the possibility of rapidly cooling food. Plus, I would never like to eat with the sun in my face...or behind me for that matter.

I was also forced to choose today when I booked WCT. I said that I had no preference and I was told that I must make a selection.

I like inside, if it's hot or cold. Otherwise, outside is nice. It's a great little resturant and has a special wine.:goodvibes
