Yikes, hopefully it's better when we go there next week! I have a lunch ressie with World of Color preferred seating package booked. Hopefully we have a much better experience than the one described. I will definitely say something if I am not impressed!
I know a bunch of CMs and guess what they work at both WCT and AG in rotations.
So while the service at WCT may seem slow, it's because the food at AG isn't as fresh. You are going to walk in and get your antipasta and salad that was produced in mass while they cook your chosen entree. So take that with some salt.
As far as the WoC meals. The dinners give you a Show Ticket to the Preferred viewing area (which is not much better but between the Yellow and Blue sections of Paradise Park). The lunch parkage at WCT give you a Reserved Ticket as Disney terms it. It's for the Blue or Yellow zones, just like the Picnics offer.
Keep in mind that no matter which zone you get, you still need to be early and get a spot along a rail. No zone guarantees a great view.
If you want a lot of details look at the WOC superthread.

Hubby and I ate at Wine County Trattoria last summer for the WOC package. This was within a few weeks of their re-opening. We were not impressed by the service or the food and haven't been back. Service was painstakingly slow from start to finish (we were starting to freak out about making it to the WOC show) and the food was only so-so.
I have heard better things about Ariel's WOC dining package, but haven't eaten there myself. We haven't done the WOC dining package since that first time, since we felt it didn't save us a whole lot of time. Now we eat at Napa Rose, which is vastly superior in cuisine, service, and price!![]()
I had an excellent meal there a few weeks ago with the WOC package.
