Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend 2022 (Nov. 3-6, 2022)

This might have already been posted in this thread-- but does anyone know how many Perfect Two Course Challengers there are?

Alright, I did some quick and dirty Excel and PDF work. The information is not exact, but it gives a general answer. I moved all the two course challenge runners from 2016-2021 into an Excel file. I then matched last name, first name across the five years. Only those with matching names in all five years were used. Some names didn't move into Excel well, and some people might have changed names (like married/divorce) that this won't capture. But like I said, a rough number.

There were 6606 Two course finishers in 2016. According to this analysis, there are 350 matching name across all five years. A total of 4488 names appear only once, 1084 twice, 436 three times, and 248 four times.

Dang, Good work! I am still p____d I missed the 2012 W&D for WORK! Wife and I would be perfect in both.

Okay, I just bought my park tickets for this trip, because I can't buy an annual pass despite this being the second of three trips I'm making in a five-month time frame.

So, if you've been waiting for annual passes to go back up for sale, and they do so in the next week, you're welcome.
I did the same thing! I kept waiting and hoping. We ended up not doing the parks for Springtime Surprise, because I never bought tickets. I broke down and bought 10 day hoppers the other day. If they do by some miracle start selling AP's between now and Wine and Dine, I'll go ahead and sell a kidney and upgrade!

I just saw the hours were updated across the parks for the last week of October. If memory serves, this is a rolling thing they do every week or so.

Right now, the last week of October has DHS opening at 8:30 am, with early theme park entry at 8:00 am. Put simply, if this pattern is extended into November, it is feasible that some of us can possibly knock out a ride. Let's say the balloon ladies cross the start line at 5:45 am, that means they'd enter DHS around 8:25 am - 25 minutes after the park has opened. Seems if you time it to hit DHS by 8 am on the dot (and they open at that time) you might be okay?

Sounds right to me. This assumes they keep the same course as 2021 where you hit DHS at Mile 10.1 of the half marathon. And usually (not always) the balloon ladies are at about 6:00am (about 60 min after race start). So that would be around 8:40am with a 16 min/mile pace. Maybe even aim to arrive at 7:45am and you could/maybe get in line early for TOT or RnR. But it does all seem reasonable. Keep in mind though, the course is likely to get more congested the closer to the balloon ladies you get, and the path from DHS to Boardwalk is super tight. So it may not be as easy to speed up in this section to maintain a gap with the balloon ladies.

8:40am? Now I'm going to shoot for TWO rides :duck:

It was one year ago today USATF initially measured the course for the 2021 races. Let's hope we see this year's show up on their site soon. I'm not anticipating much of a change for the 10K and Half but it is still exciting to see the courses announced.
I was coincidentally searching the usatf site this morning because I was curious how much the course changed year over year. I couldn’t find the course from last year but all of the w&d hm courses that I did find started at ESPN. IIRC, last year started in the MK parking lot. Was that the first time the start wasn’t at espn?

ETA: I found the other courses. They did not have “Disney” in the title so they were missing from my initial search. Looks like 2017 is when the course switched from starting at espn to the MK parking lot.

Less than 6 weeks to go!!! 🥳
How's everyone feeling? Excited? Nervous? Unsure?

I'm feeling a bit of all 3. 🙃
Excited to pace my mom through her first hm and enjoy a mother/daughter weekend together. 😁
Nervous how the race weekend will impact my marathon training. 😬
Unsure of my plans for the 10k 🤔. it's a tad controversial around here but I really enjoy racing the Disney courses. However I won't make a game plan until much closer and that could always change day of the race. My decision will depend on the weather, how I'm feeling, and how many characters I NEED to stop for 🤪

I'm all 3 as well. Excited, since this is my first wine and dine and my first half marathon. Nervous because while I have done the half distance many times before never after also running 5K and 10Ks the days before. Unsure if I made the right decision signing up for all 3...

Very excited! Have decided to enjoy the challenge this time around. Last year I ran the 10k and it was my first runDisney event and first race actually. I was so worked up over it and I took it was too seriously. So this year bring on the character stops and Food & Wine for the week before!

We are racing the Richmond half the week after and that will be my A race. Disney is for FUN!

I’m excited because this is my first W&D weekend. I really enjoyed Princess and Springtime, but this one has an after party! I love after hours events because I’m a night owl.
