Wine and Dine 2015

My gift card came in the mail today! I thought it was my park ticket and I was excited I was going to be able to make fast passes now, but it's just the $15 gift card. :D

But keep an eye out on the mail, they have gone out!

Good to know! Is the envelope obvious (unlike the new white Magical Express envelopes)?

Yes, it's inside a greeting card (so a greeting card sized envelope) and it says Disney Sports something something in the return address area.

#AllTheZebraDomez
I was bummed to not get to try Zebra Domes last time we stayed at AKL in December. :) I got a splitting migraine the last night we were there and SO went down to get some while we were in the room and I was trying not to die, and then he ate them all! :)

Does anyone know if Boma serves Zebra Domes at breakfast? I'm *cough, cough* asking for a friend *cough* ...

Someone in my Disney in Fall group asked the waiter really nicely if there was any way they could get one zebra dome even though they don't usually serve them for breakfast and she ended up with this (Dome Hidden Mickey!):

At worst, if you can't get lucky enough to get them at Boma, they do sell them at the Mara as well.

How much time is there between each corrals start? I am trying to figure out when I will probably finish the race and how much time I will have at the party.

Awesome! Thanks! Now just to hope that my mail carrier puts it in the right box in my building (doesn't always happen, even with only 4 apartments).

In the past, the first few corrals have gone off at about every three minutes the latter corrals at every five minutes.

The corrals seem to be filled with more bodies up front this year. edit -(the time cutoff seems more lenient for the corrals, or runners are slower as a whole) I don't know if this will cause the corrals in the front to take longer to clear. It's a function of how long it takes the corral at the start line to clear out after the fireworks and how long the next corral takes to fill the start line.

I hear you! It FINALLY cooled down here and I had the most amazing run the other day: beautiful breeze, cool, drier air - ran at the same effort I've been doing for a short, easy run, but came in almost 2 minutes per mile faster. I neeeeeeeded that reminder that my pace will pick up as temps come down!

This is where I have been on the morning runs, but last night's hill run was in the low 80's at the start. It felt miserable. This hasn't been a good year. For the mid season runs I've felt like I'm on the edge of a heat injury with every workout. If it's in the 80's at the start for us I might go play in the Clif Bar Pace group a corral or two behind me. Then find something in January for a PB...

I need for Dis5150 to get her weather report in the mid 50's low 60's for race start.

I will work on that, lol. :)

I am unsure what to do for my long run this weekend. It started raining this morning and it is not supposed to stop until next Wednesday. I don't mind a little rain, but this is a STORM! Lightning and thunder pretty much for the next 48 hours and 2-3 inches of rain predicted. We were in drought conditions, so major runoff. I'm watching the hourly forecast to see if I can find 2-3 hours on Sunday afternoon without lightning. Then there is all the debris from the storm to contend with. I've been having some ankle issues from running in the gravel parking lot at my 10k, so I don't want to take any chances. Otherwise it's the treadmill and while I'm okay with it usually, it's a pain in the a$$ when you do :30/1:00 intervals because all I do is play with the speed control. Le sigh, first world problems, right??

I'm about 5 minutes from Disney and it's been pleasant in the morning and hot, humid (almost 90 degrees, 70-percent humidity) in the heart of the afternoon. Then it gets back to being pleasant around 8 or 9 at night. The beginning of the week started off cooler, but it's been progressively getting warmer.

I was wearing a pullover around 8 p.m. last night and the temp was in the high 60s/low 70s. It's been pretty consistent as far as temps go in the early morning/late evening. During the day, though, it seems like it just keeps getting hotter. I ran around 1 p.m. yesterday and it was like 87 degrees with 80-percent humidity. Oooof.

Two more weeks and I'll be there!!! :cool1:

I know what you mean... I was hoping to have both a PR and a fun race at W&D this year. Temps in the 70s are not gonna help that unless the humidity is under control. I had to slow it WAY down at Princess in 2014 just to keep from getting sick. (not from the heat but the humidity was so think and disgusting that you could SEE the mist you were running through).

My January Tink 2014 race is still my best half weather experience.... Ah the bliss of low-humidity and 50 degrees.... Maybe Starwars January is still open for you.

Cocoa Beach this weekend? Good luck!

One plus side of running at Disney, is they have music. Somehow I didn't charge my iPod before my first Princess Half and went to the start with zero battery. It wasn't as bad as I thought. During the Dopey, I turn off the tunes while in the park, it makes it a little more magical. But Osceola can get boring without something in your ear.

I won't lie - I am dreading Osceola. It never ends! But at least this time we go through AK, as opposed to TOT that takes you right up to the gates and then just takes you right back the other direction onto Osceola for double the boredom. Now that is a sad moment.

I love Boma for this - we went the day after my birthday and they were still really amazing about it. I got a dessert plate brought out with happy birthday written, and one of the chefs even sang me happy birthday at his station! It was lovely. They definitely have some great management there.

I actually am hoping that the weather stays as it has been. A flat 70 is a great temp for me! Anything lower and I can get chilly. I also don't have problems with humidity. But during PHM this year around mile 8 the sun just started blasting me and I hit a wall. Luckily, if I see any sunlight this time around, something is very wrong.

Am I the only one that got a notification about Hurricane Patricia and promptly panicked thinking torrential downpours were in store for the race?
