Does Windsor Palms have a water slide also? What is the difference between the Palms and the Hills?

No slide at the pool at Windsor Palms. The difference is that Palms is older, so prices tend to be lower, but there's also more variation in the quality from place to plac. Some have been kept up well and have even been recently refurbished, while others are at the phase of being used rather hard and not kept up as well as they should have been. The builder was the same and I believe even the floorplans of the condos & townhomes are the same (I don't know about the villas).

I enjoyed Windsor palms a little better. Both resorts are nice but the condos in hills can be pretty far from the clubhouse and pools.

Windsor Palms is a smaller community and has been completed for some time. The builder is the same. Both are close to the parks.

I recommend go for the home that meets your needs. That is where people spend most of their time when they are not at the parks.

We looked closely at both, just recently. Both seem very nice.

Windsor Palms is older, more house quality variation, fewere on-site amenities. It's also less expensive.

Windsor Hills has a water slide and many nice amenities, particularly for children. Water slides, playgrounds, small movie theater, games room. But it's newer and pricier. Some houses are only 1-2 years old.

I was at war with myself over choosing. VRBO has many places in each (as do several other rental sites--I looked at many!). We ended up going with a Windsor Hills home that's owned by a family with several homes. My thoughts were, kids will enjoy all the on-site amenities and the family has an excellent track record for renting. (BTW, I went with Romancing the Mouse--they've been great so far, but I havne't actually stayed there yet. We're renting a 4BR house for ~$1200 for a week.) It really depends on if you think you'll use the other on-site stuff. If not, go with Windsor Palms and save a few bucks. Personally, I know my kids will, and I can be super cheap, and sometimes DH has to remind me that it's not JUST about saving money, KWIM?

Windsor Palms also has a small movie theater, games room, play area, pool, spa, toddler pool, sundry store selling Starbuck Coffee, computer room with internet access, video arcade, sports courts.

The thing I do like about Windsor Palms is that it is small, you can walk to the clubhouse from any home there. That's great if you have slightly older kids who want a little more freedom.

Windsor Hills is great too, but at the end of the day you will pay more for the homes (the cost more for a start and the cost to run the amenities is more than at WP). Windsor Hills is much bigger and therefore less easy to walk to the clubhouse.

Whichever community you choose, you will have a great time.

WH is about 2 minutes closer, and has the better community recreation facilities (pool, playground, etc) There is a lovely zero-entry pool, waterslide, and kids' splash area. But that just made us feel guiltier that we didn't have more time to enjoy them!

Pick the home that best suits your group and budget. You absolutely can't go wrong with either resort.

There is a minimum height requirement for the water slide at Windsor Hills. So if you think it will be a problem for anyone in your family, I would avoid it. The last thing I want on my vacation are tears, so until all of our kids meet the height requirement, WH won't work for us.

We stayed in WP on one of our first trips staying in a pool home. We loved it.
