We're staying off site for the first time in May and I'm really dragging my feet on booking and I need to just decide before we have nowhere to stay. We found a property we loved at Windsor Hill through Magical Vacation Homes. I thought I was ready to book last night but started looking at their Reunion properties and they are gorgeous! A little more expensive, but we'd still be saving a ton over what we would be pay even staying at a value on site. We're only planning on hitting the parks during the first part of the day so we'll have a lot more time to relax at the resort. We are two adults and a toddler under 2. Which would you recommend for us?

We've never stayed at RR but I've looked at pics and you are right....so nice! We have stayed at WH and thought it was very nice. We loved our stay there.

But if you like all the amenities at RR and don't mind being a little further out, I say go for it. Some people who have stayed onsite before and are trying offsite for the first time, try to get as close as possible. WH is the furthest out we've ever stayed and it was a cake walk getting to the parks.

So again, if you won't mind being a little further out, then sure! If you stay there though, please post a review? I would love to hear more about this resort since I've looked at it on and off over the years. It might be a good one for us in the future.

Happy deciding! :wave2:

yes after 5 on site stays I think WH is our best bet but my DH and I fell in love with some of the villas at Reunion. When I told him maybe we should just stay at WH in the condo we chose he said "well why did you show me those other places then?" :rotfl2: I will definitely post a review either way! We have 2 other trips coming up after May so I definitely think one of them will be at Reunion if this one ends up being at WH.

Haha that sounds like my DH when I ask him his opinion on places to stay. I'm just asking 'cause I need help deciding! :) So many nice places to stay, it's hard. (what a great problem, right?) But then he just tells me he trusts me and it's up to me. His money. My plans. It's a great system. haha

Oh, and lucky you! All those trips planned. Have fun! :)

I have always wanted to try Reunion, and have even heard its a great place to buy a vacation rental. Just keep in mind that only certain owners pay for use for some of the amenities. Just anybody staying there cant use the water park, for example, and when one of the waterpark memberships becomes available whichever owner is next in line for it has to pay something like 10K/year for the membership. That is just what a realtor told me. So make sure if there is a certain amenity you want that it is included with your rental home. And if you find out how all those memberships work please report back because it sounded really complicated.

I had forgotten about that, good point. My family wouldn't use the water park as long as there is a pool to use? Or is it your own private pool that you get. Can't remember. But that is interesting.....and quite a chunck of money.

Yeah, it kind of turned me off from buying as it just seemed like a pain. We are still looking for a house, sort of.:)

We stayed at Windsor hills in 2007 but had a really bad experience with a dirty pool, no cot for our daughter & cockroaches. We ended up moving out after 4 nights & went to Saratoga springs for a week.
In August 2012 we stayed at reunion in a 3 bed pool home. We loved it, beautiful resort, lovely home & very clean. We didn't have waterpark access but that didn't matter to us and we had a lovely evening in the bar at the top of the grande.
We are going back there this year after much deliberation & have just booked a 4 bed pool home for less than a 2 bed marriott or hilton vacation club property.
The drive is fine to the parks, particularly speedy to animal kingdom using the sherbeth rd shortcut & actually reunion is only a few hundred yards further off old lake Wilson road than Windsor hills.
One of the main things we love is having an open private pool, however there are houses with screened pools too if that is your preference.

Yeah, I can see how that would be. But how awesome you are going to get a place down there! Cool! Good luck!! :)

Figured I'd bump this thread since it's been over a year. Anyone that's been to both Windsor/Reunion in the last year? We've done Windsor twice and have loved it, but I'm seeming good rates on 4 bedroom townhomes at Reunion.

TIA!

We've done Windsor Hills twice now. I would still love to try Reunion. The only thing that stinks is the water park access... my toddler would LOVE the new splash part but it seems like it would be expensive to have passes to the water park every day. That part is too complicated it seems.

Do you know what the price is off-hand? I think the properties I have been looking at would not include the water park. Past years, we've haven't used the pool at Windsor Hills more than once - so it's not a total dealbreaker. I'm more than willing to pay a little extra if they have a water park as well.
