I can't believe we've been back for over a week. The time is really flying. We had a fantastic time to which we credit some important decisions.
1) Renting a home at Windsor Hills - what a fantastic property. It is absolutely beautiful, safe and perfectly suited to families with young children. It was so nice to have a full kitchen, separate bedrooms for the kids (although as usual our 3 year old managed to end up in our bed) and a splash pool in the back yard. Definitely beats a hotel. The prices are excellent as well for what you get. The location is awesome - we clocked it and it took less than 5 minutes to get to Animal Kingdom. Many thanks to George aka 5mins2disney for his endless help and for being on the disboards when I was in a panic that we didn't have a place to stay!!
Just wish I had been able to find a nearby Starbucks....
2) Bringing our 21 year old niece to babysit our kids so we could have a couple of nice dinners out (Shula's and, our favourite, Jiko) and a day to ourselves where we went to the indoor skydiving place - highly recommend it - and for lunch at the Columbia Restaurant in Celebration (go for the 1905 salad - I have NEVER had a salad this good). She hadn't been to WDW since she was 4 and I don't know who was more excited - my 3 year old or my niece. She had tears in her eyes on a few occasions especially when we saw the princesses. It was pretty special.
3) Taking pictures with the princesses BEFORE our daughter got cranky. This year we have some good pictures instead of a red faced, snotty nosed 2 year old trying to claw her way from Cinderella!!
4) Eating at some great places - the burger at Rainforest Cafe in Animal Kingdom was one of the best I've ever had, the salad above at Columbia House was incredible and the Pina Coladas at Bahama Breeze were great.
5) Going on Everest and Soarin' - what amazing rides!! I thought Space Mountain was great but these take the cake. Try to sit in the front row of Soarin' if you can.
All in all a fantastic trip. Decent weather. We got to all 4 Disney parks (unbelievably we've never been to MGM), had a fun shopping day at Premium Outlets and had some great meals. Can't wait to go back!!
