A lot of people talk about the homes and Windsor Hills in general but I see that there is also at least one condo complex too. Can anyone here comment on the condos specifically? If we were to go this route, we don't need more than two bedrooms.

I also see several websites offering these places with varying prices and they all look nice. Maybe there's no answer really but how do you know what you're getting into? Does Windsor Hills tend to be nice no matter who the owners are?

Windsor Hills has an eight building (4 stories each) condo complex which is on the north side of the clubhouse / main pool area. There are two and three bedroom/ two bathroom condos. Buildings # 7 and 8 have either a lake view or pool view.
To the south of the clubhouse and main pool area there is a section of buildings that have two story townhouses. Each townhouse has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms ( usually a king master and twin master upstairs and a queen downstairs) Outside the patio doors in the living area there is a partially enclosed deck with a 12 by 12 ft splash pool. ( Each individual townhouse has it's own.)
There are also 4 to 6 bedroom pool homes to the west of the clubhouse area.
Each condo/townhouse/pool home is individually owned so therefore differ.
Some have Disney themed rooms and some don't. Some have lots of extras like LCD tvs, wifi, free long distance etc and some offer the basics. Most of the homes are great but there could also be a few that are in need of TLC. (Most of Windsor Hills was built in 2005 and some of the pool homes were just completed last year.)
We stayed in two different townhouses, one was very nice with lot of extras and the other was very basic in furnishing and no extras. It was ok but some people want nicer furniture/electronics and the extras.
This is true with where ever you rent. Take a good look at the pictures and ask questions if having certain things is important to you.
( We liked the townhouses because you could park right beside your front door, much easier for getting luggage and shopping in.)

Hi-I've stayed at 2 different 3 bedroom condos, and a 5 bedroom house in Windsor Hills. With the condos, I knew I wanted a top floor unit, so that narrowed-down my search quite a bit. Some have nice views (pool, lake)and others view the parking lot. I liked staying in the condos. Perfect size for 3 or 4 people, and hauling stuff in is a bit of a chore, but there are elevators. Just start looking at the listings (I always go to vrbo and windsorhillsrents) and start a list. You'll find a great condo if you invest just a little time.

Do all of the WH condos/TH have keyless entry so that the code can be changed between guests?

TIA,

KC

Honestly, the condition of the condo will depend on the owner and/or the management company they use.

There have been 2 prior threads in the past year about people renting units/homes that were NOT as described/pictured (one in WH and one in Emerald Island) which resulted in a VERY unpleasant vacation. One appeared to be due to a poor management company, while the other appeared to have an owner who didn't maintain his home.

I would rent based on word of mouth recommendations and/or # of reviews if you go through vrbo as well as good communication with the owner. I would also spend time asking about who the management company is and if they are close or onsite, how problems/repairs are handled, etc.

Also, you can go through a reputable management company. We use Florida Sun Vacation Homes. They offer keyless entry on all their condos/homes, and the home we've stayed at has been very clean and looks exactly like the pictures. Our close friends stayed in one of their condos last month (first time offsite), and they raved about the place. All Star Vacation Homes is also recommended but I don't know if they rent out condos.

Good luck with your search! We personally love to stay in Windsor Hills.

Thanks for the information. I'll check the recommended websites to see what they offer.

Depending on the time of year you go, you may find that direction the condo faces will be important to you. We stayed in a north facing condo one year and really wished it faced another direction. We got absolutely no sun on our screened balcony or in our windows - it was January and could have used a little solar heat.

I have stayed at Windsor Hill a quite a few times...just chiming in with I would definitely pick the town-home over the condo just for the mini pool feature. Not really sure what the price difference is or what season you will be traveling, but if you like that option...go for it! Got one booked for our next trip!!!

We have rented condos in Windsor Hills several times over the past year. Each time we went through Palm Tree vacation homes. Each condo has been clean and comfortably furnished. Some were nicer than the others and closer to the pool but since I always book last minute my first choice isnt always available. Either way we never had a problem with any of the condos and would return to any of them. You simply cannot beat it for the money. There are 7 of us and we have been able to rent a 3 bedroom for $100/night. It takes only a few minutes to drive to WDW and the location is super convenient to a ton of stores and restaurants.

We stayed at Windsor Hills 2 years ago in one of the condos. It was gorgeous. We were a bit far from the pool and had a parking lot view (don't remember building number) but everything in the condo was fabulous. We didn't want to leave. We are leaving on 7/22 for a hybrid vacation - some time at Windsor Hills and some time at a Disney resort.

The pictures of the condo we rented this time really aren't my taste. The last one we rented was all gorgeous dark jewel tones, this one the living room is lime green! But, we chose that unit because of it's location (close to the pool) and we wanted a ground floor unit (much larger patio).

We used Allstar Vacation homes both times.

Hi,

All this is the first time I am trying to rent a condo/townhome.

I am in contact with one owner who doesn't seem to respond very quickly but that maybe because they are supposedly in the UK. I found them on this site

windsorhillsrent.com

Going through the forums I found people talking about making sure the taxes are paid and stuff? Is this important and how do you check?

There is no contact information on their site except for an email address. Is there something I should be worried about?

They are asking for full payment via a cheque or money order and a $250 security deposit.

Anyways, if anyone knows another contact or an alternative to windsor hills I would appreciate it as my trip is booked for July 15 to July 23 looking for a 3 bedroom.

Thanks.

patelb88, you might want to post your question as a separate thread. I'd hate for your post to be overlooked.

I used allstarvacationhomes.com - they are a mgmt company and not owners, but their service is really good.

I am here right now in a condo. We have stayed here about 4 times and in this particular unit (2 bedroom) twice. We always rent from www.disneyneighbor.com. I stumbled upon them on this board and will not look elsewhere as they are very responsive, prices are good and their units are really nice. We love Windsor Hills!
