Windsor Hills Question

I'm helping my sil/bil and family plan a trip to Disney and Seaworld. They are a family of five and they love the idea of having extra space...plus saving $$$. I was considering Windsor Hills as a recommendation but we haven't actually stayed there ourselves. Can anyone who has been offer an opinion?

We have stayed at Windsor Palms twice and loved it and I think they would too. I was thinking of Windsor Hills because of the added ammenities, particularly in the pool area. Their children love to swim.

When I plugged in their dates in the windsor hills rent webpage I received dozens of replies with some great rates.

Hotelkingdom still offers a good value on Cypress Point & CPGV but that's another place we considered and hope to try but haven't yet....too many good off-site choices! There are so many reviews here though on the CP's that I have more info to offer them on that location.

Any input on Windsor Hills would be greatly appreciated! TIA :goodvibes

You won't find too many reviews on Windsor Hills simply because it's new. The pool and clubhouse were just finished this June. There is still ongoing construction so you'll need to be aware of that. I believe it's supposed to be wrapped up at the end of the year, and it's generally further back from the pool/clubhouse area.

It looks very close to amenities (shopping/Disney entrance/major highways). I'll be staying in January.

Happy hunting!

Thanks very much. I know that is a new development but I was hoping perhaps some of the experts here had already tried it! Their trip isnt until next spring so I am hoping that the majority of the construction will be completed. As long as the pool, clubhouse, etc. are done they will be fine with any remaining work still going on. Have a great time in January. This is next on our list of places to stay ourselves so I am looking forward to reading some reviews.

We stayed at Windsor Hills in July and loved it. We had also stayed in Windsor Palms before and liked it so much we bought a condo in Windsor Hills!

Windsor Hills is brand new with a fabulous pool and clubhouse. We had a great time relaxing in the pool and enjoying all the resort has to offer.

The construction did not bother us at all when we stayed since our condo is close to the pool. Most of the construction is in the homes being built further away from the pool. I would think most of that would be done by the time your family goes on vacation. I hope this helps.

We went the back way using sherbeth road and it took anywhere from 5-15 minutes depending on which park you are visiting. The Animal Kingdom is the closest park to the Resort with MGM Epcot and Magic Kingdom a little farther away. It also depends on traffic but the ride was pretty quick for us to come back to the resort in the afternoon for a break before we headed back to the parks at night.

We stayed there as rentors in May 05 and May 06...and loved it so much we bought a place there in June 06! (What a souvenir to bring home..huh!? LOL) It's an awesome resort, if you're in a townhome or a condo you will not be affected by the ongoing construction at all as those are all new single family homes on the western side of the resort, which is huge. The pool / clubhouse are all long since finished (they weren't went we first went in May 05). You can see a lot more pics of the place on our website if you'd like.

Also...if anyone needs directions to/from the Magic Kingdom from Windsor Hills using the back door 5 minute route please email me..I'll be happy to send them to you.

I know this thread is an old one, but I'm looking for directions to/from the parks from Windsor Hills. We are going December 2007. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Under an "old" username I posted the directions on this forum along with a map. Search this forum for Windsor Hills Shortcut and you will find it.

We're here now actually, loving it! Just got back from the clubhouse pool, and we're off to Disney MGM for the day, just an incredible place!

I highly reccommend my Off Site Trip Report, that should be completed, but, well, its not....:rolleyes1 Anywho, all the important stuff about WH is in there and I have plenty of pictures. I HIGHLY reccommend Florida Sun Vacation Homes, the company we used. :thumbsup2

Good Luck!

Just read your TR - I'm researching rental homes so I'll check out the company you used. Nice TR - it seemed that it was pretty easy traveling back & forth. I'm a little nervous about the idea of staying offsite as we definitely have our favorite disney resort restaurants to go to. Was it relatively easy getting into the resorts? Did you get a 3 hour pass or did they just let you in after confirming your ADR? We love Ohana, Kona CAfe, Chef Mickey's and wanted to try Beaches & Cream sometime. We've always stayed onsite so its like a whole new world.

We always eat at those kinds of places, it's never an issue to get into the resort, they'll even let you in just to look around if you like.

That being said, you have to make your ADRs well in advance for places like Chef Mickey's of course! (I didn't follow my own advice this trip, we're here now, and we couldn't get into Chef Mickey's).

The good new about this trip though, is the parks are the least busy I've ever seen them, we walked right onto Rock N Roll Roller Coaster and ToT yesterday with zero wait, very cool!
