I sent in an inquiry to Windsor Hills and got LOADS of replies. I deleted the replies that didn't fit my needs, but there are still many available condos and homes with great prices. How do I decide?? Any suggestions or favorite homes??

FWIW, we are a family of four looking preferably for a 3 bedroom. We have a busy week planned, so if we use the pool, it will be minimally. No real specific needs that I can think of......TIA for any help................P

If a pool isn't high on your list then a condo would do or even a townhouse. If you want to park right outside your front door, don't want anyone on the floor above you: then a townhouse. The buildings are all two story with 2 bedrooms upstairs and one downstairs along with the kitchen and dining/living area. If you don't care about that and want your living space all on one level then a condo. They are in 4 story buildings with elevators and the parking lots.
Find out what payment options suit you: whether credit card or cheque.
Is wireless internet important to you, free phone calls etc.
I guess it's just go for the one that has the price you want and the amenities you want. :)

Depends on where you're renting through, but most places should have reviews of previous guests. We have stayed twice at the same unit and left good reviews for him. That unit was booked for our upcoming trip, so we went with another (found through VRBO) which had some good reviews from other folks.

Also check for 'little extra's'. For example - in the unit we rented before, he supplied laundry detergent and dryer sheets. Just one less thing we had to pack...

Some minor points to consider:

Do you want full sun at the pool, or do you prefer to have some shade for part of the day? If the former, you want a south-facing pool, otherwise not.

We really prefer homes with keys in an on-site lockbox or similar location, rather than at a management company---one less thing to do on arrival/departure day.

We really prefer homes that take damage deposits via credit card authorizations, rather than a payment that must be refunded.

We learned the hard way that the keys should be picked up at the house NOT at a management company. We went through heck last year. After travelling all day with two motion sickness little ones, we had to drive 30 min out of our way to the MC and it was sooooo late and the kids were soooo tired. And the MC was not fast and difficult to find etc etc.

Then we almost missed our flight home because we didn't allot time for traffic to the again out of the way MC. It was a royal PITA. From now on we only rent houses where the keys are left AT the house.

Other than that everything was fine. Some perks are the free long distance houses otherwise you have to pay through this phone system which is a pita.

I just posted this on another thread...
we stayed in this 3BR townhouse at Windsor Hills last summer.

It was nice, clean, looked just like the pictures. I think we paid $110 a night in high season. There is no management company directly involved, you rent from the owner who then gives you a lockbox combination to pick up the key at the front door.

Despite my careful research into the WH community areas (pool, gameroom, etc.) my kids never used any of it. They were too tired at the end of the day to care.
