Windsor Hills House Recommendation

Hi Everyone
My family and I are planning our first 9 night trip to Disney Nov 7 through Nov 16th (yeah!!!). We really want to rent a 5 or 6 bdrm home in Windsor Hills but are really terrified of the process. I have been looking for a few weeks and am overwhelmed and wary of the process. Does anyone have a personal recommendation for a clean and friendly rental. Any help is appreciated!!

We've rented from owners many times and have never had a problem. Just find as much as you can about the property, check tax records, ask a lot of questions etc.
We usually get cancellation insurance because of having to pay so far in advance, you never know what will happen before you go. We use insuremytrip.com .
Any owners I've talked to/emailed are very nice and helpful. Remember they're also trusting you with their expensive homes.
There's many nice home to choose from, just find one that you like and ask some questions. We use vrbo.com (kissimmee area) but there's also the WH website: www.windsorhillsrent.com and homeaway.com and fabvillas.com and the list goes on.

Also don't be afraid to ask for a quote even though the listed price is higher than you want to pay. Sometimes owners will give you a better deal just to get the booking. It never hurts to ask.

Once you find out the owners name you can go to the tax appraisers site and search and see if they really own property in that subdivision. It will also give you a map showing where the home is located in the subd. It's just another precaution to take to make sure everything is on the up and up.

Just do a record search with the owners name, last name first.

If the property is very new it may not be listed as yet on the records. It takes a few months to get put online.

The booking process is nothing to be terrified of! We stayed @ WH last year and it was such a great experience! We also happen to be staying there again the same time as you 11/6 - 11/13 (in a townhome). I second the suggestion of trying to book the home directly through the owner as you really can save (maybe enough for a character dinner..lol) I think I saved about $20 a night going through the owner.

I cannot reccommend it enough, it was exactly as pictured in the photos and the owners and management company were very helpful, the pool is south facing and it was lovely and peaceful overlooking the lake watching the sun go down.

I definitely recommend the one we stayed in in March. The owners are so nice that the Scottish owner sent us an itinerary for the Scotland leg of our summer sojourn -- which we just completed (and that was monhts after we stayed with them).

You can see in my sig that we are trying a different WH home next March. We are traveling with friends and they had a certain very hard ot meet demand (specifically.. TVs in both living areas). We have not stayed in it, but it is 6 bedrooms and you might want to check that one out too. (just google the house name and windsor hills in quotes).

We are booked for end November/December this year at the house next door to the one Mainebound stayed in. Its owned by the same owners. I can certainly vouch for my experience with the owner so far. He has been fantastic. He's been really helpful and replied to all queries straight away and assured me that all our requests will be taken care of. Definitely worth contacting if just for a quote.

Update: I had a look at their management companies website and see that one of the houses is still available for the time you are travelling.

The one next to Mainebound I heard back from, it looks beautiful and was quoted a great price, I am waiting to hear back from the other. Dpell, the lady we're renting from and that owns Perfect Hideaway is from Maine also: Scarborough. It's a small world. We're from Nova Scotia so get about the same weather as Maine. It will be good to experience summer in Nov.

Cant wait to hear what you decide Dpell. If you decide to go with Jura I'd love to hear a review from as we arrive 28 November for 4 weeks. Although I am sure its going to be fantastic.

I rented this house before. It has 6 bedrooms 4 baths. It has 2 master Bedrooms. Both Master Suites are downstairs. It has a wonderful private pool. There is a huge bedroom upstairs and two other 'normal' sized bedrooms. The whole neighborhood is really nice. It is across the 'street' from Windsor Hills (in Windsor Palms). The last time I stayed in this house, Windsor Hills was still being built. It was the week of Hurricane Charley. The owner was really nice. He called to check on us a few times (more likely his house, but he still called) I was able to pay him via Paypal sporadically until I was paid in full. I like using Paypal because I could pay with my credit card and I had my own receipts of payments and that helps eliminates any payment confusion. You will not be disappointed if you choose this house.
