Wilma!!!!!

We just got power back. Everything is working again, computers, cable, phone, and hot water.

Most of you reading this can't understand what it's like to take a cold shower.
Just try it. Turn the dial on your shower all the way to cold, and go for it. Now do it for a week.

Hope the rest of you get power soon.

I know how it feels. I had to do that for 4 days after Charley and 3 days after Jeanne. Not fun.

Electricity is great. I wish we had some. If I had an alarm clock I probably wouldn't be at work at 4:30 a.m. Though I am getting used to sleeping to the drone of generators. My kids bought me a light up MIB pen and I used it this morning to find my keys.

I'm so sorry to hear about everyone's house, yard, and electricity problems. Although, I am glad you are all safe. Hang in there!

In Broward, gas lines are back to normal, and power is coming back in more places. Street lights are still out. That's something else that wears on you after a while. Every intersection is treated as a 4 way stop, and sometimes people cheat and go when they shouldn't. Tonight I'm going to Samsclub to get groceries. That's the latest challenge, finding grocery stores with fresh food. I expect it to be packed, I drove by there the other day and the parking lot was full. I was in my Publix yesterday when the power came back. The entire fridge area which has butter, cream cheese, and stuff like that had been cleared away. They'll have to restock it.

Power is finally back for me as well.
All is well, just lots of trees/power poles were down, just trees now.

Power to the People! We got power last night and you could hear screams of delight down our block. After about 2 minutes the power went out again. We thought it was trick or treat and we were tricked. But it came back on and the neighborhood was even setting off fireworks in celebration. I truly feel that Thomas Edison did more for Florida than Henry Flagler.

Lines at Samsclub were actually OK Monday night. The freezers are half stocked, and the deli area is still closed. But they're working on restocking and I think they'll be back to normal in a day or two. Going to Publix tonight.

Ugg I hated that from last year! I wanted to get a bull horn and just scream at those piggy backers. What is so hard about ONE car at a time?

Glad to hear you are all getting back to some normalcy - whatever normal is right after a hurricane :flower:

Happy to report that all of our traffic signals are operational (heard from Broward that about 600 are still out but 3000 are working).
I went home for lunch and no power!

We got power back on 10-29-05, :Pinkbounc  :cheer2: and phone was restored on 10-30-05, called Direct TV when the power came back and they told me that it will be anywhere from 1 to 2 month before they can get a tech. out to realign our satelite dish. We live in a 2 story house and DH's ladder does not reach (believe me he tried, he is missing all football games. Actualy went to my mom's house to watch the Dolphin game). We missed the brunt of the Hurricane, had some minor damage, but everyone is o.k and that's whats important.

We used our generator so my son could watch his Phins, Bucs, Canes, Noles and Gators.
