Wilma, forgotten suitcases & cruising October 2005 ""Finally Completed"

Cast: Me: Major Disney nut. Lived on Dis board for months.
DH: Cant understand why DW does nothing but talk Disney. (hoping to convert him)
DD 10 (almost 11) Cant wait to ride all the thrilling rides.
DD 9 Will have to be talked into riding thrilling rides.

Pre-pre-trip
02-15-2005
Finally talked DH into booking a trip to WDW. Met with AAA and scheduled a trip with another family to the most wonderful place on Earth. Booked a grand-gathering for 8. Five days at CBR and a three day Wonder Cruise room with a verandah. Yea, we are going to go October 22 to October 30th. Bought every book I could find and started reading. (everyone around me, sick of listening to my plans)

03-17-05
We own a bar and café in a small town in Nebraska. DH takes the day off to help me with ST. Pat’s Day. He decides he needs to fix something outside, falls off a ladder, breaks foot. Off to the hospital.
Instead of serving people corn beef and cabbage, I am patiently waiting for DH to get out of surgery.

June.. Husband is finally back at work but, bar/café business not that busy. Try to decide.. Can we still afford to go??

July
Ok, we cant go. Talk to travel agent. Tell her. Totally bummed. But, don’t cancel.. Maybe, a miracle will happen.. What if we stay at a value instead and go to an inside stateroom on the cruise. Airline tickets are paid for.. I just want to go.
August
Drop down to ASMo and go to inside stateroom. Start panicking. Other family is getting ready to cancel.. I have made all of our dining arrangements by now.. Now have to redo them. Start worrying, will DH be able to get around the parks? His foot is still bothering him.
September
Buy, tickets to MNSSHP. We are going 10-23-05. YEA!
Entire time.. Read Dis boards for hours everyday! They are great!
So, that is the pre-pre trip report.
I will continue all in one thread. I think it is hard to find when spread out into several threads.

One week to go!

We are going to be Asmo from 10-22 to 10-27. Then Wonder cruise from 10-27 to 10-30.

Got a call a couple of weeks ago from AAA. Pixie Dust has been thrown. We have been upgraded to a larger room with a port hole.

Other family did drop out.

I have tons of laundry to do and pack wanted to do that this weekend. But, time got away and DH is traveling till Midnight on 10-21 and then we leave for the airport at 3:30 for our 6am flight.

Kids have tons of homework, ughh.. But we will get it done so we can enjoy ourselves.

Final plans:
10-22-05 arrive WDW and dinner at Chef Mickey’s then off to Magic Kingdom.
10-23-05 Magic Kingdom day.. Rest MNSSHP!
10-24-05 Epcot Day dinner at San Angel Inn.
10-25-05 Breakfast Cinderella’s Royal Table then AK, then Hoop De Doo Revue.
10-26-05 MGM day
10-27-05 Wonder Cruise.

Ok, hopefully these arent too boring. I have read Stringer’s report, CJK and Delswife.. I cant even compete. They are awesome.. Please bear with me.. I might get funnier. LOL.

So, here I am.. 3 days to go.
Wilma is on her way. Very good friend keeps updating me on Wilma’s progress. Oldest DD just got her homework for the week we are gone. OMG there is soooo much.

Laundry still not done, packing not even started. Trying to stock up on the things I need for the bar/café when I am gone.

Leaving my business in two employees hands. Thank goodness I trust them with all my worldly possessions. ( worldly possesions)

Ok, again I promise I will get funnier.. Or at least I will try.

Read the no jeans thread on the boards for the cruising part of my trip. Boy, lots of people have very strong opinions. Still reading these boards to much. Is that possible? So much to do, so little time.

Well, I now have less than 48 hrs to go. Wilma is still causing trouble out there. I have been trying to call Fred to get his wife to come home, but he wont answer his phone. Wilma is a sassy little woman.

Trying to tie up loose ends. The bar is having a big halloween party on the 29th while I am gone.. So, giving last minute directions on how to decorate, and what specials to run.

Still getting several calls to update me on the weather. I spoke to the friend who isnt going. She acted shocked that I was still going, and she told me how happy she was that she isnt going. I told her we will have a fine time and that maybe a lot of people are afraid to go.. so I will have the parks to myself.

I checked my lottery tickets.. guess I cant upgrade and sell my bar cause I didnt win.

Hoping MNSSHP goes off without a hitch Sunday night. (before anybody gets upset about me not worrying about what the storm will do, I am worried and I hope we Americans don't get hit with more horrible devastation, I am praying for the people in the path and I will continue to do so.)

Anyway, hope everyone going this week has a magical time... and I am hoping I dont have to add to the thread "my children ruined my Magical vacation"

So here I am.. Nothing packed.. Kids are out of school today, for teacher conferences. They are high strung and fighting about everything.

We went to that big Super Store.. Wanted to make the Walton's a little richer. DD10 already lost her new jacket I bought her just a month or so ago, so I had to purchase her another new jacket. She must think I am made of money.. I will try to set her straight. She also lost a bathing suit, luckily they were on sale for $3.00 so I picked her up one.

Wilma's path looks like it will hit below us. So, we are getting excited and ready for our big vacation.

DH wont be home till this evening, hopefully by 10pm but might be as late as 12.

I have to get the bar ready for karaoke. Also, have to cook a prime rib for our patrons and the girls and I are getting haircuts at 2pm.

Sounds like I will be busy. I might be able to update right before we leave for the airport around 3:30am. If not have a great week guys and I will write again when I get back.
