Wilma and my brothers vacation

He is leaving tonight for a 5 night Cancun vacation and then to Miami on Monday for a 4 night cruise to the Bahamas.

I feel soooo bad for him. rain rain rain rain.

They didn't do any insurance and can't change dates. They want to go anyway. I hope that his timing is just behind the storm.

I never do insurance on vacations. I find a way to have fun anyway.

I hope your brother gets to go. My sister, who is a regular on this board, is in Cancun now and may have to come home early because of Wilma.

I now Always buy trip insurance. We have three kids and lots of family and after two trips that we had to cancel due to deaths in the family or serious illness we thought it makes sense to buy the insurance. In that way you can either get your money back or reschedule your trip to a time where it works better. At least in our family Murphy's Law rules ... what can go wrong will, and at the wrong time. It's worth an extra $100 to not have to worry about it.

I feel your concern and wish your brother the best, to be safe and have a good vacation with some descent weather. I have an upcoming surprise cruise planned for my DH and I also am hoping for nice weather with smooth sailing. I did purchase insurance in case of any emergency.
